That looks like an Avenger/Spider Cobra...one of Don Wagner's riggers....The transom of that rigger is is a trademark from A/S. Not sure what it would be worth to you though....I'm sure Carlnoki (Carl) on here will know much more than I do about it...he's very knowledgeable about them. Don Ferrette should know about them as well...

Here is a few pics of my 20 size A/S Avenger rigger....I bought the kit from Don Wagner in '93....

sounds like it has good compression, and a little gummed up

Those OPS abc motors had a sweet taper in the liner hence the resulting pinch you describe @TDC, and maybe a little gum as well. If you're not sure about running it soon pull the plug and fill the crankase with Dexron tranny fluid. It will clean and preserve @ the same time. Very nice rigger btw makes me think of my old crapshooter. just my .02c

That is a mid 1980's Water Spider.
they are great rough water boats and capable of mid 80mph.
Take the motor out and pour the tranny fluid in it into a quart or gallon zip lock freezer bad for a few days then take it out spray it down with WD40 and there ya go. should loosen the motor right up.

If you are really planning on selling it, I would venture a price range of about 450 to 500 bucks.

Areomarine USED to import the OPS line but has dropped them and no one in the states imports them now.

I used to run nothing but water spiders back then, still wish they were being made now days.

                    Mid 80's??

Maybe in the trunk of a car on the way to the pond. Yes they were pretty decent rough water boats in their day but mid 70's is about it for that set up. Keep in mind an honest mid 70's (as opposed to something like "wow it looks like it's doin' 80!") is still plenty fast for most people. Mid 70's driven on the pins will still win their share of races.
