I surfed ebay front to back.. side to side, the only hydra 240 I came across for $249.99 was a LV240 (low voltage) I have never seen a NIB hydra hv240 for $249 anywhere.... I have had good luck with hv240's myself.... in fact castle hydra esc's in general... I think they are like anything else... program them properly and use them within there operating range and you will get good results.....

b.mcdaniel.2009 can you post a link to the $249.99 hv240 so we can have a look?

yes.... it won't be wether the motor will handle the esc but wether the esc will handle the motor... but yes on both counts anyway..... I know others that will bash he hv240's but I on the other hand very much like them.... and you can buy a Castle link (same link works on all the castle esc's) and not need to be a rocket scientist to program them.... download the software to your PC and its basically plug and play to program... super easy.... they hydra hv240 esc would be a great choice for that motor... as if you wanted to run 6s ever... or even 5s for that matter you won't be pushing the hv240 to its limit like you would be a Low Voltage esc.... like I say I myself Highly recommend the hydra esc's.... only thing I have ever done to a hydra is get a leaky cap... but that was due to my own bad setup and it was on a lv120... was a cheap fix..... but this is a GREAT deal no question.... can't believe its still here at this price.....

hey b.mcdaniel.2009.... just remember that leopard is a 6s motor....no more... so even if you get this hv240 you only want to go to 6s..... maybe 7s if it was a SAW type run (couple quick passes).... just wanted to let you know as I see you saw the magic smoke in your apparation with a HOT setup.... oh well though it happens....
