The Lehner 1920 motors were 2S (7.4v) motors. The batteries were 3S(11.1v) and 4S(14.4v) packs. The ESC's were HV models and not 2S compatible.

We went to Castle 240 LV ESC's and 2S2P with two Hyperion 2S(7.4v) 5500 mah packs per motor.

Weird, Ernest at MHZ custom ordered the motors from Lehner and told me to order those bats and those esc's.

A mistake was made there somewhere. We didn't want to believe it either but after MUCH research concluded what we had would make lots of smoke.
Lehner confirmed them to be 7.4 volt max as did other electric guru's. ???

We are trying to get props and prop shafts from MHZ designed for the hull also it didn't like the two bladers, well we think that could be part of the issue. Have a bit a negative in the struts, working to recess the jackstands so we can get them closer to neutral.

This is the prop and shaft kit for the boat.
It has the reduced diameter drive dogs to match the smaller diameter props the hull uses and 3 blade props. We'll see how she does.



Correspondence with Lehner,

I have a pair of 7 wind Lehner 1920 motors. They are the model with the integral cooling fan. Can you tell me what is the Maximum voltage these motors can handle?
Would like to run 3S (11.1 v) or 4S(14.4 v) but worried these might only be for 2S(7.4 volt).

normally we say:
1920 = 2s Lipo
1930 = 3s Lipo
1940 = 4s Lipo
1950 = 5s Lipo

I don`t recommend you 3s or 4s...
