That is not the best running cat ! Very hard to get that boat dialed in.
Jay Turner is why the Smiths Cat

What we are looking for is a tunnel which moves the center of lift aft to be under the dymanic CG without adding a low pressure zone at the transom (the fatal flaw of many OPC tunnels). There are work-arounds for almost any poor design, but it is better to design it right in the first place.

Same as in most commercial cats - the center of lift is too far forward, and the Bernouli effect further assists in pitch destabilization. Some of the German cat designers get it, some do not. Note: this is for very high speeds only - for the speeds of the past (and much of the present) hulls that are currently available work okay.

The Smith's Cat is not perfect, but it is closer than most in this respect.

Did you buy his Smiths cat ?
Then there's no reason to worry.
      Jay knows his stuff.
Overhere in Europe the Smiths died an early dead, it wasn't very popular.
Maybe not because it wasn't a good hull, but because of the introduction of the hpr115 etc etc.

I think all of you have bid a little low, IMHO. See: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=14087

Yes it has a paint job, but these hulls are ultra rare and you'd be hard pressed to get anyone to give one up, not to mention this one is in the states.

I will say that it is sick in person!

Danny, give them a picture of the bottom!

Yeah, that is ready to run though and has a $500 paint job, so I am dropping my offer back to $92. Better jump on it Danny!!!!!

His bottom from another thread. (Boat that is)

That offer seems insulting. You couldn't get an H&M small cat to the US for that and they're a dime a dozen.

Danny you need to sit on the hull and weather the storms.

Not in, he said on. Plenty of room. Of course, I would request that it be washed first before delivery. Well.

I agree. Give it a month and see what developes, you can always sell it then. You have had it this long, someone will want it in a month from now anyways.

Danny, talk to J Turner, he has a Smith Cat and can tell you what the deal is..
I have seen it go and it is indeed hard to keep in the water... with a single drive setup...
but ask, it's a beautiful Cat.
