Hey, I am buying the parts I need as we speak. Where do you typically put the water pickup on a hull like this since the octura does not have one in the rudder? Is it ok just to mount one on one lower portions of the hull?

You can make a "prop wash pickup" like the one in your picture, or install the pickup in each sponson. one pickup to cool the motor, the other to cool the ESC"A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."

I got the boat today in good shape. The front of the boat was dented in from the internal foam that was applied I think. I cut that loose from the inside with a large knife and then heated up the fiberglass and it all puffed back out to its original shape(with a little help). Looks Great! I am starting the build as we speak. With some luck, and a few key parts I might have it together by the weekend to do a test run.Comment

Glad you got everything intact! About the foam. I wasn't sure if it was the foam or if it was supposed to be that way. I got it like that. It was such a perfect dent on boat and with the way the front curves up it was hard to tell. Glad you got it sorted. Hope to see it up and running soon, it's a real nice boat!Comment

I have been working on the boat I bought from you and thought you might like to see it. I have a Neu 1515y in there, but the esc is just not big enough, so I am going to pull that out and drop in a UL1 motor with a swordfish esc. Just used the stickers I had handy and I will be replacing the white Mit sticker as soon as I find a good number sticker. I will save the neu and turnigy esc for an insane hydro I have on order.Comment

Yes, all of the hardware is installed. I should have done a picture from the back. On the hydro, he said two to three weeks. Turns out I will heading to the West Coast next week for business and then a week of vacation, so I asked him not to ship it until the 1st of August.
Hey, any hints on where you placed the batteries in the hull?Comment
