    Need opinion please

I BOUGHT THIS HARDWARE FROM A GUY ON HERE. THIS IS HIS AD VERBATIM...

"I have a FDM hardware set for sale. .187 strut, bracket & rudder. Also 1 set of adjustable trim tabs. Hardware is in near perfect condition. Just a few very small scratches."

AFTER RECIEVING THE HARDWARE AS SOON AS I TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX I NOTICED THAT WHERE THE DRIVE DOG GOES IT WAS NOT SHIMMED RIGHT. IT LOOKS LIKE THE DRIVE DOG ATE INTO THE RUDDER. I TOLD HIM ABOUT IT AND HE SAID HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT, TO SEND HIM A PICTURE. SO I DID.
PLEASE COMMENT ON THESE PICTURES THAT I TOOK. I WOULD LIKE YOUR HONEST OPINION. THANKS ERIC

I took several and this was the best picture. You can see where the anodize is gone, its ate away about .040

        wear

Yep, I have done that to struts before. Didn't gap the cable correctly or if running a square shaft flex drive the thrust bushing failed. Also, a thrust bushing may wear off the anodizing, but it shouldn't eat into the aluminum.

The rest of it looks ok. Is it just cosmetic? How is the rear bearing. Looks just like the one I have on my mean machine.

It's called the macro. The symbol is the flower, turn it on and it helps you take pictures in closeup range. Otherwise your picture turns out blurry.

Always flush before taking a picture, that is just common courtesy!!!

I believe he meant flash! and not flush!! A good flush is always a good thing.

The damage is NOT on the rudder as you state, but on the strut. The anodize is definitely worn away, so is a little off the strut itself. You can definitely file it smooth. But pictures tell a different story than the real thing in your hands!

Just an opinion but if the propshaft goes in and turns freely then no harm. It will be covered pretty much when assembled anyways. I would not worry about it were me. At least it did not show up bent:)
