    WTB- Proboat Fastech strut bracket

    Looking for a replacement strut bracket for the proboat fastech-- mine cracked,

    I've ordered several times from here, good prices and fast shipping.

    Chief, there are a couple threads about the brackets cracking, seems to be a common problem. The real solution is to fab your own out of some aluminum angle (L) stock with some thicker aluminum.

      Yeah, I've seen those. I thought first I'd try taking a stock bracket and shoreing up the "L" joint with epoxy putty.

        I went through a few of those untill I made my own and haven't had a problem yet!

            I used 1/8 aluminum angle stock from lowes, traced out the strut using the old one as a template and cut it out with my jig saw. Double check your hole placement and you will need to get a longer nut and bolt if you do both sides. It's realy easy and it works.

              Did you need a drill press or can you freehand the holes?

                It is easier on a drill press but you can do it by hand no problem just clamp it down or put it in a vice.
