I bough this Rio EP brand new a few weeks ago. It was completely stock.
I removed the radio and sold it as I had my own to run in it. I then installed a Brushless system I got off e-bay. Its a 3600kv watercooled brushless motor with a 4mm output shaft. The ESC is a 60amp unit that is lipo ready. I soldered on a TRX plug on the ESC and hooked everything up properly. The boat has been tested as it sits and runs very fast. Im not a boat guy, im a truck guy so I dont know how to "tune" the boat to run flat and smooth but it sure was fast, even by truck standards.
Further to all this I installed a brand new JR servo and mounted it with screws instead of the tape the stock servo was mounted with. The boat has all the stock running gear and comes with 3 spare props.
To make the motor work with the flex cable I bought a proper 4mm-.130 coupler. This is not some hack job modified coupler. This is done right.
Everything else about the boat is completely stock. It does not include a radio or any batteries. It does however come in its original box with the original stand and all the manuals and 3 spare props. The boat is in impeccable condition. There is a tiny scratch on the top deck of the boat but its covered by a sticker. If I hadent told you, youd NEVER know it was there.
The running gear is in MINT condition. Never run aground or hit anything in the water. The boat was run for less than one 4000mah 2S lipo pack. Ive decided RC boats just arent for me. Im sticking to on-land stuff.
I accept paypal and have over 400 positive feedback (%100) on e-bay under the name "pavmentsurfer" Im also a regular on the traxxas forums with many satisfied buyers.
I have about $180 into the boat as it sits but will sell it SHIPPED for $140. You WILL need a radio.
