Just don't want people to think they are gonna buy a new MM hull for $125... I believe they are close to double that with no hardware..... even at that they are a good deal because the quality is certainly there.... your boat was sold rtr from aeromarine with a .18 for, I believe if I remember correctly, $495 rtr...
Your right, it wasn't $125 for the hull, it was new for only $115 shipped (flood damage, Hull and hardware) nothing was wrong with it..
brand new hull and harware, never ran!
fdm charges way to much for their stuff in my opinion, and the owner has stiffed a few people with his promises

I am not saying those hulls are not a good deal... they are a nitro layup though and are heavier then the electric hulls... also they probably are off in quality of hardware as well... and you are buying them wholesale from the warehouse.... not everyone is going to get that deal.... is there a warranty on those hullls that have been in the same building where they did in fact have flood damage? I am not saying I got a "great" deal...... but I will say I feel I got a quality boat, and a well built one.... I am not contesting that mr. fine didn't take advantage of some folks... I'm sure he probably did... just didn't happen to me.... I bought 3 boats off him, many props and parts, I live in Vt which is pretty close to his place shipping wise....I'd order something and 2 days later it would be in the mailbox, hard to get upset with that.... I also feel the quality of workmanship of Mr. Fines was far better then I have experienced later with another vendor that people have often praised... go figure.... oh well I think I am really polluting this thread. I do love my mean machine though, and If I had the chance to pay the big bucks for it all over again, I would do it in a second...... it has given me alot of grins......

and do the nitro hulls have carbon reinforcement like the one I bought from fine design? Or the lexan cap to keep the elements out... which works fantastic I might add.... again I often feel like sometimes you get what you pay for..... and you are right sometimes the extra money is a waste, but I felt as though back then Chris Fine gave me good service, he always called me back quickly, maybe it was because I spent alot of money with him.... he did know that If I was calling looking for something, I was ready to buy.... I deal with people all day.. as I am a Sales Manager for a Large Cadillac/Chevy Dealership, I feel like when people give me good information, treat me right, and have a good quality product.... they should be rewarded.... and I have to admit Mr. Fine did have alot to do with getting me hooked on this fine hobby.... so for that and that alone, I thank him Also does your nitro converted hull have this clean of appearance as my MM guts? notice the wood frame around the top of the hull... thats where the plexiglass sits that tapes super easy for a nice watertight seal.... and you don't need ugly tape on the outside of the hull.... I literally have never had ANY water in the hull of this boat... she is tight.

I would love to build a Carbon Fiber version of this hull..
no way would I buy fdm, they have jack many people out of a lot of money, and their sevice has not been all that good as well
they buy what we all can get but put a big price tag on it when they are done
not worth the extra money IMO

Oh man, warranty on a hull? say what??
I bet they are the sam quality in the hull and possibly better if they are a little heavier build and I belive they come from the same place who builds them.
also the hardware is possibly better than at fd, actually I believe it is the same hardware!
also the CF inlay is not done by FD
Not only me but everyone gets a deal.. and now you can get the Hull and Hardware for only $105 shipped!
and as far as your picture, that is off the fd site and also looks like a Aeromarine decal under the motor mount
also my interior looks sweet! I also don't need tape as I have white foam all around the interior edge that lets no water in and I need no tape
I have no water issues coming into my hull and it is very clean and for less than $300, and that's less than 1/3 the price... oh man, that's alot of batteries I can buy
I've seen to many people taken for my fd

this is a quote from steve awhile back " FYI. The nitro version is layed up in Asia. Its a different boat. The tunnel area is very, very thin. Its also painted and not gelcoat. Still a very good deal and hard to pass up."

i have they electric layup, very strong, good gelcoat, sharp edges, carbon fibre reinforced tunnel.
the cheap nitro hulls are a very good deal.
i think from memory my mean machine cost me around $600 Aus with out esc/batts
but it costs a lot for shipping

i will rephrase that part "cheap hull" as i meant no disrespect or to insinuate it was a cheap hull,i was referring to the cheap prices paid for water damaged hulls, which i still find funny being there a boat
all i am saying is native paul was not happy with his hulls quality, i was pointing out its made in asia not the states as the electric layup is.
mine had a few blemishes in the gelcoat other than that its a great hull.
my view is if you want a pretty hull buy some thing else,if you want some thing that performs exceedingly well buy a mean machine.
personally tho with the new hatch i love the wide low profile look of the mean machine

when I got my flood damaged hull, well I did not see any damage from water
and for the new hatch, I'm kinda torn between I like it and I'm not so sure..
but it is sweet to have a second option, specialy if one uses tape on the hatch

Yes and by the way brushless55 you say my pic is off the fine design site... That's because it's my boat, sorry, look at my avitar on "my page" I bought the actual boat he used for the pics on his website... I bought it almost two years ago and he still uses the same picture.... The pics on my page are of it in the basement... Now I can't remember if the pics are on this site or rumrunnerracing? But my id the same... You can see it's the same boat as my YouTube vid.... I wanted that graphic scheme and chris told me he'd sell me the one he used for display... He did just that and sent it to me in two days it was on my porch:)

I'd also like to add that not everyone has time to build a nice high end boat (meaning a boat other then the current rtr crop) and it's nice to have someone who puts together quality boats... I work 65 plus hours a week and it allows me to have hobbys such as this... I like to play with my boats not just spend my few bits of time turning wrenches on them... And i myself will pay for the ability to open a box and smile:) I bought daggersfl drifter and vortex for just that reason... I like high quality builds because I am not quite up to the task.... I think the market has an absence of boat builders in fact.... I also just bought two "big" boats from mr fuller... I can maintain my boats just fine but I will continue buying boats that are nice quality builds when I can find them... Not just the most reasonably priced ones I can find....Tho there is nothing wrong with getting a good deal:)

well it only took about 5 hours for me to complete my MM after I got the hull and hardware from Aeromarine..
the build time was more of fun play for me as I was working for CDOT of about 60hrs a week when I put this together
this was the most simple build ever for me..

I guess I'm just more of a driver then a builder.... You know what they say "different strokes for different folks"..... Let's just leave it at that:) good luck with all the mm's out there.... And to all a good night:)
