        I spent a long time block sanding the ride plates yesterday as they were very rounded and uneven some with hook but most with vaying degrees of rocker, sanded the gelcoat through in places on all pads the hook has gone but still isnt totally flat there just isnt enough meat in the glass they will need filling, now I know why you Americans love the quality of European hulls, I can honestly say that I have never seen a poorer quality moulding Aeromarine really should have put some more hours into the plug before they bothered making a mould, and they sure didnt try to make up for it when they layed it up, both the glass work that Obrien put in and the glass that in the aftermarket hatch are of much better quality, with actual glass cloth rather than CSM and an even wetness of resin, don't take my critisism as anything against Obrien he looks to have fit it out to a good standard its just that the hull quality isnt what I am used to.

        I also evened up the yellows yesterday giving it a few coats of yellow all over, I gave it metalic british racing green on top and a windscreen today, I'll put it back together this evening when the paint is drier, fit my electrics tomorow and hopefully race it on sunday.

              she is looking good already Paul. Don't pay to much mind to how the stringers are cut, I installed full stingers in the boat for running a p-boat, but I cut out as much as I could when I decided to run it on spec power. The hull handles great, and I would imagine that with the work you did to it, the boat will probably run even better.

                  Well it would be more then that if you spec'd it like fdm's... It came with

                  hydra 120
                  nemesis 10xl
                  hitec bb hs servo
                  fdm hardware
                  .150 flex
                  hitec aggresor fm radio

                  I know it would cost about $740 in parts... And oh well right now he sells them for $995..... A little profit for his labor isn't a dirty word.... I put batteries in the boat and put it in the water.... That vid was one of my first ever runs with that boat... Bone stock the way he built it....Didn't adjust one thing..... And it was back when mr. Fine gave me great service.... For the most part I felt good about my purchases at fdm.... Even though I know alot of others haven't..... And my boat has the lexan water shield under the top cowl which makes taping the boat up a cinch and it's waterproof..... There's alot to be said with good quality work and I still believe, for the most part that chris was pretty good at what he did... It's a shame though that it "unravelled".... I am also happy because the graphics on the boat make it look sharp:)

                      I think mine cost
                      $115 Hull and hardware
                      $ 80 9XL
                      $ 40 200a esc
                      $ 25 HT servo
                      $ 25 Flexshaft
                      $ 0 for extra Tactic radio
                      but I'm going to swap out the 9XL and try my Medusa 3670 2300kv
                      I love the way these handle!

                        By the looks of your pic and the color scheme... Was yours a nitro model you bought without the Niro engine? The graphics suggest it was a gas boat....and are the prices you are talking about all NEW parts? When I bought mine I was not into building... I bought the boat for the reason I wanted a fast, good quality boat:) and I got just that.... I wasn't trying to build the cheapest 45mph cat that I possibly could.... Have fun with your mean machine and sorry for littering up your thread:)

                          looks like the nitro hull which i believe is made in china,the one steve sells is a electric layup made in the u.s. i could be wrong on this but my hull has sharp edges and ride pads are flat no hook
                          its one from o.s.e

                              The hull and hardware came straight from Aeromarine Laminates
                              it was set up for nitro that I put in brushless...
                              it's fast and cheap.. (new pices)

                                MM

                                I hear ya.... was it one of the hulls aeromarine had on ebay at wholesale price because they had flood damage? just wondering because lets face it, MM hulls def don't go New from Aeromarine for $125 with hull and hardware... I saw those hulls on ebay for a longggg time, almost bought one for backup, but the layup was heavier and decided I wanted mine made for electric duty..... Just don't want people to think they are gonna buy a new MM hull for $125 with hull and hardware... mostly because we are gonna de Value our used boats even more then they already are...... I believe they are close to double that with no hardware..... even at that they are a good deal because the quality is certainly there.... your boat was sold rtr from aeromarine with a .18 for, I believe if I remember correctly, $495 rtr... you probably offered $115 because aeromarine was trying to get rid of them because of water damage..... I am right on all of this or am I off?
