I want to go with a bigger scale than 1/12.

            That's tough for me.
A Miss Bud, new, costs $299.99
Used ones are less than that.
Mine is lightly used, but still used.
Every run she had was posted about here. Maybe 5 runs total. (only once did she have a full run where the batteries gave up.)
Mine is not Nitro (stock) but it is FASTER than stock by 7.2 MPH.
Stock comes with a radio. Mine doesn't.

It's hard for me to let her go, but she can't stay because I can't afford to start a new project from $0.

No insults on offers. For example, I get an offer of $40 which won't even buy the motor, I won't be offended. I hope to at least get $200 for her without the batteries. Batts cost me over $150 at the LHS and only run the 5 or so times in this boat.

            Thanks,
            Danny

One in the nose where the gas tank is supposed to be.
The other one right in front of the motor, where the velcro is.
Both packs are in a "brick config"

Here are the pics of the battery placement.

                      1 battery

                      Both batteries

I have recently run it in this config, hatch closes over it with plenty of clearance.

Or even Doby's config with stick packs would be fine too.
My ESC is in the radio box area instead.

Here's a pic during the build process when the SV27 motor was still installed. I thought about cutting that bulkhead on either side to access the room in the sides & sponsons, but I didn't have the heart to cut my baby. Besides, It isn't needed, she runs great just the way she is.
I guess cutting those accesses would lighten her up a bit more, but I wouldn't.
