2012 Christmas Gifting Rules - READ BEFORE POSTING!!!!

Ok guys so here are the rules:
Start on Dec. 1st!!

Post a thread with what you want to give (does not need to be boat related); someone else post that they want that gift.

When someone claims the gift post the name of the member who your gifting to in this thread (http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...HAVE-GIFTED-TO)
This way we can all keep track and make sure everyone is following the 1 gift per person rule..

One gift to be taken per person.

Only members may participate; no member may participate on behalf of a non-member friend.

The giver specifies how shipping will be handled.

No asking for a specific gift that has not been offered. Example: Don't post "I need a motor mount, who has one?"

You may Gift as much as you want. But remember you can only receive "ONE TIME"

Behave like the responsible adults we all are - the admins will not police this thing or settle arguments, but we will make additional rules, or shut this down, if it gets out of hand.

Everything worked out really well last year so lets make it happen again!
Gifting will end on midnight Jan. 1st.

Next year if I decide to give again it should be noted at the beginning of every post that each person gets (1) gift total on the forum. I managed to second gift someone and had others wanting multiple things, which is not in the spirit of things. I also noticed far more taking than giving. There were some extremely generous gifts this year, hopefully next year there will be others out there that can help give too.

Thats sad peeps either will not or just did not read the rules clearly states ONE GIFT per person hope everyone that got gifted is thankful for what they got i know my son is thanks again diegoboy hope all that i gifted enjoy it:)

Its not a "HUGE" deal but its clear that people dont read/follow/respect the rules and that some dont get what the giveaway was all about.

Who got double gifted?
This is not OK!

Each year will hopefully get better and more will give.
It so far has been great and am very happy with what has been gifted and the spirit of things.
Everyone enjoys this so lets keep it going year after year.

I agree tiquman gave me a great gift so I sent him something in return. I never posted a thread just sent it as a return gift. I'm new to the hobby so did not have much to offer this year. I do hope to continue building up my stash of boat stuff over the next year so will hopefully have something to offer to one of you next year. I do think the idea of this s great and hope to see it continue.
