Whoa! Mike! You've lost it! How did you manage to accumulate all that so fast? Nice work. Two transponders! Woah!!! We should go there sometime on a slow day after work....like Wed, Thurs or something.
I just won another parts buggy on ebay!
It's not looking good for me tonight either....work stuff. I might be able to make it later (7:30?), but definitely not in time to race.Comment

I wont be racing anyway but there is a strong chance Ty and I will be able to make it. The 22 with mid engine only takes shorty packs. Bob tracked some GP's down for me. Need to pick those up.
Mike, check with Fred. He was threatening to get one too. In fact he left my house Saturday night with an Associated RC10 from about 1998.
Tom, just get the Tekin. The Viper will only save you about $40. Larry's had both on the shelf. The two were described to me as "very good" and "great". The Tekin being the better of the two.Noisy personComment

lol! Hi Rick. Yeah, I can see how that sounds strange to you! it's a bit of an odd surface. It's almost like a cork?! High bite, smooth. The custom works work very well there. The lower profile side wall helps as well (lowers the CG). We used to run foam tires (and I still think there's hope for them), but they tend to slide when you run off course and into the dust.Comment

Interesting. Are you guys running the HRC blocks and shims then on that high traction surface?
How about the springs and shock oil? I found the stiffer the corners, the better it ran on carpet. The stiffest springs TLR makes for the front and rear. 40wt oil in the front and 50wt in the rear.
I thought I saw a link to a 17.5T motor in a previous post. Most I was racing with started with 10.5T then went to 8.5T. We had a double double within 10ft of a 90* corner and you needed the lower turn motor to clear both sets of jumps.Comment

Rick, you're assuming I have any clue what I'm doing. Not so much. LOL
There are two tracks. The little track is carpet.
The big track is a weird thing. It's a rubbery looking mat and then some spots are ABS plastic. Crazy stuff. Looks like guys are just running through the ABS bank off the throttle but I can't tell for sure.Noisy personComment
