Hey there other Chris. Good to see you poking your head in once in a while.
Hope life is treating you well.Comment

I don't want to rain on any plans for what I think would be a good thing for the club, but...
You may be fighting an uphill battle trying to set course markers unless the wind lays down a bit. http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/laun...=KSRQ&state=FL
Brian, when we vacated Ackerman the lock went with us. Chris should have both of them. The trick will be getting it looped back into the gate chain. It may be a case of having to use the back entrance until someone can get a chance to talk to the SRQ commissioner(s).Comment

If we do it we'll just cut one link on the chain and put our lock on. But I'd rather try to find another place there's got to be some place out there that we can get in without the BS and where we can run events and do what we want.Comment

If we did not have to deal with liability insurance BS, which IMHO is worthless and throws money away, we would not need anyone's permission to run our boats in any lake in Sarasota and Manatee counties. There are no lake POLICE
out there stopping anyone? Again just my $0.02 on the issue that has been driving me knuts

Has this happened to anyone recently?
Why all the "no" "no no" "no not my lake" answers from all that have one:
You mention racing and liability to anyone that owns a lake. The first thing they are going to do is say nobecause of "potential" complications it might cause them "God forbid" someone gets hurt
and sues them. Could our club enter a no-sue clause with them that holds them completely harmless and we take full responsibility for any issues? Might cause the "Lake Police" to leave us be? You thoughts???

Here's what I worry about. Ackerman is a perfect example. More often than not, there are 4,6 or 8 folks watching our antics from the two shelters at the entrance to the pond. They are in a direct line from the backstretch of our course. 12lb 60 mph missles headed straight at them.Last edited by RayR; 10-21-2015, 09:57 PM.Comment

only if we follow namba safety rules, which we have done exactly once in my recollection.Comment

Who is up for a Road Trip!? Even if we had pins up at Ackerman, the wind this weekend is going to make it nasty to run on. Many of you don't know it, but Brian and Rich have a wonderful, protected course setup in Cape Coral. I am going to go down on Sunday, anybody want to follow along?
The course is directly behind the Publix at Pine Island and Burnt Store Roads.Attached FilesComment
