Last run of the day. Chris pulling down his last couple of packs in the Mean Machine twin. Video is looking a little funky on this one too. Not sure if was using too much zoom or the camera just didn't like the lighting conditions or what.
Run day reports.

I've pretty much decided to pull the Swordfish out of my Miller American and put it in this boat. I'm still having issues with the Castle "cutting out" way too often. Kind of like having an engine with a miss in it.

I'm still working by process of elimination but it's sure pointing toward the Castle being the culprit right now Shawn. A few runs back it wouldn't even initialize so took a spare Tactic and it worked at the lake. After getting home that day went through throttle endpint setup with the Futaba and it worked fine again the next outing. Then a run later it dtarted cutting up again. So I pulled the Futaba rx out of my VS1 and put in it. That was today's run. Now I'm going to pull the Swordfish out of my Miller American hydro (I never run it anyways) and see if it works. If it does I'll blame the hydra. If it still does it, then I've got a problem with the Futaba system. (which is just out of warranty)Comment

As always Bill, thanks for playing video guy when your not running.
Did I mention how happy I am w/ my Cheetah?
PS, directed more at Ray, I found issues w/ some of those ESCs having a sloppy soldering job. I undid the motor leads on one I have here that wouldnt power up or program and cleaned it and re-soldered it. It powered up and programmed on the bench and spun the motor up fine. So, next outting I will see if my repair fixed it.Im going thru ALL of the controllers here to inspect each and every one. PITA, but will be worth the time to eliminate future frustration... hopefully. Im positive its why mine let go after seeing the solder clumps on the fets.... I wouldnt doubt if it was the issue w/ yours as well.

Between taking a few weeks off for the holidays and it being extremely nice weather today we were out in droves it seems. Lots of boats running and maybe a little too much video shot. Makes more work for me when I get home
I found out my new Sony video camera will actually take some pretty good stills too. (While shooting video at the same time. If it just had a viewfider I could really come to like this one.
Ron from Mississippi was over this weekend and did some testing on a few boats. This is his little shovel nose hydro

Larry's P sport hydro on a timed run. (Trying to beat his old record even if unofficially)

Ron's Jersey Skiff. This one was a lot easier to keep in the viewfinder than Larry's hydro.

A run of my Falcon cat that Chris shot for me. The Swordfish esc seems to have fixed the cutting out issue but it thermaled after about 4 hard laps. Guess I better turn the timing down to low on it.
