I haven't mentioned it "in here" because I talked about t-shirts at one of the run days, that said, I'm in for a couple or three.

It would be nice if we could come up with an order for a couple dozen. Might get the price to a reasonable range then. So far I've only seen 6 that you could count on as "spoken for" in here though. I was hoping that we'd have more speaking up and saying they wanted some new shirts before it got lost on a different subject like ideas so often do in here.Comment

Yeah my thoughts are to get a few more than we have orders for anyway for future members. As weve seen, its hard to get a count for anything on here as it seems more than half the club now does not follow threads on OSE.
Bill, heres another idea, what if we put together a "Welcome sheet" to give to new members that has info on it such as registering and following threads on OSE. It seems a lot of them ask about communications or I tell them about OSE and as soon as I say go to Offshoreelec... .com, they give a deer in the headlight stare and that where it ends. Ive written it down for a few but theyve come back and said they couldnt figure something out.
Id also like to send out a club email just as a "please reply to this as a check in" since Ive only gotten about 3 or 4 responses to either the club roster or that "club news" email I sent out last Sunday. I want to be sure everyone has some sort of way to follow us so if we do change our run schedule etc, we can send it out in an email and be sure that if someone didnt get it and showed up or didnt show up while we were there, it was most likely thier fault and not because "no one told them"
With that said Bill, what about changing the "Events" page to project much further out rather than just stating changes for runs as it currently shows our April modifications. Spell out every run day we are going to be there and change it as we go along the way. I still get visitors showing up and saying "oh I found your website and thought you ran last week so I was here but no one else was." Or Oh I was driving by and thought you ran next week but saw you all here." I know if we spelled out our calandar for say 4 months, theres a possibility that we may change or add a day, but we can reflect that in a bold red text or something as an "edit" as it happens. Thoughts?Comment

we will do a head count and quantity per person, with sizes, at the next meet.
I will note it BGComment

On the thoughts of a calendar that runs months in advance, I've been trying to find one that could be set up and adjusted as needed but so far haven't had much luck with coming up with one. Right now, I manually change the page each month as soon as I can get what we're doing nailed down. "IF" we can ever get a standard set of what classes will be run in advance for race days I'd add that as well. As it is, seems we never know until a couple days in advance if we're going to have enough turnout to make a class though. I haven't figured yet out how to get weatherbug to display more than the current conditions on there either.Comment

Id think we may have a better chance of them registering if we spelled it out for them on paper. Just a thought.
As for the calandar, dont beat yourself up. It doesnt need to be an actual calandar lay out. As you have April on there is just fine. Id just put May June and July in under whatever dates the 2nd and 4th Sundays fall and if we reschedule etc, even if its days before, we change it on bold red or something
And as for the classes, for now if you just want to list the classes we mainly run, Id think that would be efficient enough. I have had a few Pms or emails asing what classes we run. That would take that mystery out of it.Comment

Even in this 'day and age' there are those who find computers intimidating and hard to navigate (including myself on occasion), so I think a good 'ole fashion paper hard-copy is still a necessity. Just my .02 cents.Comment

Thats my feeling as well. Ive had 2 members come to me and say they got on the site but couldnt see pictures and couldnt figure out how to reply. And it comes down to, they were not signed in or registered. Ill see if I can have something put together for hand out next sunday.Comment

Coming back to extending the calendar, what are we doing for May? The second Sunday is mother's day. Not a special day to me since mine passed away many years ago so I'm good to go either way. Question here is what does the group as a whole want to do? The following Sunday will be the 20th and if you were planning to go to the waveblasters race... you can't be in two places at once.
Now would be a good time to make decisions.Comment

I cant do mothers day and am not going to waveblasters. Looks like this will be another thing to add to our list to talk about Sunday.
