Regardless... I went to Walmart a little while ago after prowling around and finding my broadcast spreader. (I'm still nursing fire ant bites from last Sunday)
Picked up a bag of spectracide and will stop by Ackerman on my way back from flying tomorrow. Hoping by spreading it then we won't be fighting them next time out.

The 2nd Sunday of November at Ackerman is OK with me.
I do like the larger course also.
My pond is OK for boats up to 4S.
A little small for 6S + I think.

Sorry to hear that Ray. I was hoping by moving our November meet up a couple of weeks that it wouldn't interfere with anyones Thanksgiving plans and make for a better turnout. If you want to run the 4th Sunday I'd be willing to come out and play that weekend, too.
Starting to look like we may have a pretty good showing for the 14th.

I sure do hope the weather is as nice for the 14th as it was today. Stopped by Ackerman on the way home to spread the spectracide and there was a couple of the glow guys running. The lake was like glass except for the ripples they were stirring up with their tunnel boats.
I used a full 7.5 lb bag in our pits and surrounding area. Hopefully we won't be getting bit next time out.

In most cases sprinkling bait on a mound results in it moving someplace else. I fought them where I live for a long time that way, then tried the spectracide "treat once lasts all season long" broadcast method. Haven't been bothered with them since. I'm hoping it will work as well there as it did here.

The closest place I can think of to Tampa would be the Gulf Coast RC Boat Club in Riverview. Here's a link to their website. http://www.gulfcoastrcboats.com/Race_Site.php They are primarily a "gas" club but if you call and beg just right might let you run. I've ran a couple of electrics there and it's a very nice facility with retrieve boat on premise all the time.
Where we run at Ackerman is available to the public but it's down in Sarasota 50+ miles south of Tampa and there is no retrieve boat there unless we're having a run.

I WOULDNT worry about the ants but the hornets nest in the roof of the pick-nik-table is out of control we might need some brake clean..
