Mike [TheShaugnessy] Wins P-Ltd Sport Hydro at D19 SCSTA 2017 Opener

Season opener at Legg Lake had the SCSTA P-Ltd Sport Hydro class unfold as an FE-30 Fest with all entrants running this trusty race rig. Extremely hot air and water temps took their toll but Mike slugged it out with some good competition (which gave up much smoke). Way to go Mike !!

In another "upset", Dennis drove his electric Zelos 48 to a First Place Finish in Open Oval - a class populated with some major fast Gas & Nitro contestants.

[note to self - bring the icewater transfusion gadget next time if temps remain over 90 degrees ]

I ran two classes - 32 heats last season. One toasted motor total. Got complacent and kept same setup yesterday with air temp 90+ degrees and pond water lukewarm. Two motors & one ESC kabongered. Will drag along the icewater dialysis machine to pre-cool down for next meet in June.

You burn up speccy stuff or open class motors? Sorry to hear that.

Pre-cool and or post cool too? I have done post cool many times just at the Michigan cup. All Speccy stuff got too warm.
