I don't know what dirt road you turn down to get there in 25 minutes but, Wendy and I had to drive around the lake every time from that place and it was no closer than the Red Roof in Auburn Hills/Rochester Hills and the staff are complete jug heads where you are staying. They come into your room when you put up the sign that says stay out and they lie about making mistakes. Have fun there, we did NOT!

That's where I'll be..its pretty much the closest place...about 25 minutes from the race site.
Daniel and I stayed at the Red Roof in Auburn Hills/Rochester Hills in 2012 and it was 45ish minutes from the race site. We stayed at the one in Lake Orion (although it was a different name then) in 2013 and it was fine...2014 we camped at the race site(just because of the length of the Nats).
As for you and Wendy getting lost all the time...I suggest you find a driver who can actually see over the dash, it should cut down on your travel time substantially
HAHA Even Wendy gets beat up by this crowd. Classic. Ray, are you coming? Didn't see ya on the sign up. We're going to probably have to have a cut off at some point. We don't have one yet but we will at some point just so we can finalize all the poo.
Where is Ray Presnell too?
Fred, I still can walk. I'll wear the water wings once the wrenching is done. It'll be fine.
Just tried signing up and think it worked but, my printer ran out of ink and Adobe Acrobat distiller isn't working either so, I need to get ink..... Sorry for the delay...

Small chance she will get hand controls in for me to drive by the race. In 2013 there was tons of construction on Rochester road that is done now so as Jake said it was about the same driving time approx. for both places and I checked on the map as about the same drive time unless you are driving across the lake. There was one turn we were always missing to get to the place you're staying at this time.

This brings the boat count to 184 (+/- some entry errors)
Still missing some notable names.....Mike Ball, Chris Krawczyk,
and numerous other regulars come to mind.
Lets get this over 200 this week and maybe some of the racers
on the fence will get pulled in by the gravity !!!

They're nice looking hulls but they have a lot of strake so they ride high in the water. Might not be able to get it to settle in enough to be competitive.
