Just added some more fun to the event. Mark Grim will be putting up the 2 lap equipment for Sunday!
So, if anyone wants to hang around 1 more day, they can run the 2 lap course.
Any questions, let me know.Comment

1/10th Scale Modern has been moved to Friday. In hindsight, I should have given more consideration to scale-only drivers regarding the class schedule and thanks to Jim Bickford for planting the seed, so to speak. This way, Modern runs Friday, and Vintage and 1/8th runs on Saturday. Those involved have already been contacted personally, and anyone that was on the fence to sign up for the scale classes, please do so!Last edited by D. Newland; 05-07-2012, 12:03 PM.Comment

David,
Silly question I suppose, but just thought I'd check:
1) Are tents provided, or do we bring our own?
2) Are tables being provided?
3) Will we be tearing everything down at the end of each day, or can we leave things relatively setup??Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

For those driving, I am working on the assumption that they will be self-sufficient with shelter, tables and power. If anything is needed, just ask...we'll provide it.
Ted McKay is staying on site each night, the park is locked and also police patrolled. Typically at the gas events, tables/tents stay up, and equipment gets locked in pit trailers.Comment

David, Section 28, page 3 of the NAMBA Rule book shows both an "M" & "Offset" course. Exactly what will the Nationals Offshore FE class course look like? JIMJIM MARCUM: NAMBA 777; EX? It will be the offset course and the plan at this point is to put the offset pin off of turn 3, just like in the diagram.Comment

That helps David. A few more questions, please:
1. Is the course going to be 1/10th mile, 1/8th or 1/6th mile?
2. How many laps will we be running?
3. Is the start going to be "Flying Clock" or "LeMans?
4. If a boat sinks, when do I do my retrieval diving thing?

Check out Brian's 2 lap video on the main forum that Tony posted. 2-Lap record post. That's the course. 1/6th mi legal gas course. 6 lap sprint heats and Offshore is a timed 4 minute race. All on a flying clock start.
And, if a boat sinks, you'll be doing your thing at the close of racing for that day.Comment

I know, I know!!
1 -> 1/6th Mile Course
2 -> 1-Mile heats for sprint classes, 4-Minute Timed heats for Offshore
3 -> Ummm... That one I'm not sure of... David??
LeMans Starts are fun, but seem to be inherently unfair. That being said, they are FUN! :DDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA
