Yes he was registered. He bailed because those didn't have the entries. You guys offered it. That's all you can do. It's what was bringing him to the race. There were at least three guys that normally run those that aren't this year for one reason or another. Had nothing to do with you guys at all.Noisy personComment

I understand we have some guests coming to our event who haven't been to the "Golden Horseshoe" area of Canada yet and are bringing family's that are looking for things to do in the area. Here's some info for you:
Fifty Point Conservation area is 200 acre park on the south shore of lake Ontario with walking trails, a marina, campground and beach areas.

The on site, licenced restaurant "Limani at Fifty" has a huge deck over looking the marina, each contestant gets a $10 discount coupon:
The Niagara Falls region has lots to do besides the falls, you can tour the vineyards and take a wine tasting tour, shop at the quaint "Niagara on the Lake", go to the Casinos or Marineland:
Experience the wonder of Niagara Falls! Find top attractions, events, travel tips, and everything you need to plan your unforgettable adventure today.
There is also a very popular outlet mall in the area:
Located in the beautiful Niagara region, minutes from Niagara Falls, Outlet Collection at Niagara combines brand-name fashion and lifestyle retailers.
Downtown Toronto or "Trawna" as we call it has many things to see and do. Popular attractions include the CN tower, Toronto Islands, Royal Ontario Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Theater District and more:
Canada's Wonderland theme park is popular with the kids:

If you come to our part of the world I think you'll find people generally friendly and way too polite, but hey that's the Canadian way. Don't forget if you're coming from the US your dollar is worth about 1.25 Canadian dollars so try to exchange some money ahead of time and use a credit card to make the most of it.
See ya'll soon!Last edited by Terry Keeley; 07-19-2019, 08:59 PM.Comment

They've expanded the deck area quite a bit since last year and added a bar serving different beers on tap.
They're ready for us!Last edited by Terry Keeley; 07-19-2019, 04:02 PM.Comment

Bonus! Just heard today a local band called "The Reflections" will be playing at the Limani restaurant on Sat. night from about 7 to 11 pm.
Apparently they play a mix of 60's and 70's classic rock with a little 80's rock and country thrown in, quite popular I'm told!Comment

If you're coming from the US here are a couple of sites for border wait times:
You can exchange money right at the border or walk in to any Canadian bank once you've crossed. There's a Royal Bank at the same exit as the race site:
You should generally get about $1.25 Canadian Pesos to a US Greenback, a few cents more at the bank.
The Queenston/Lewiston Bridge is generally preferred if coming from NY State as is the Blue Water Bridge at Port Huron/Sarnia. The others have commercial traffic and are usually slower.
If you've never crossed the border before don't worry, it's no big deal. Take off you sunglasses and just answer their questions honestly, show them some respect and you'll have no problem. Leave your firearms at home unless of course you have the proper paperwork.
See ya'll soon!Comment

Could change of course but so far it's looking good! If you want to get in to one of the best events of the season we can take you until 5pm on Friday.

By all accounts the 2019 "Can-Am" was a huge success. There were many curve balls thrown at our Northern Lights MBC from a movie shoot at the park to glitches in electronic equipment but we overcame them all in the end.
We have hosted this event for seven years now at our new site and if you ask anyone that has attended they will say we run a first class event. We plan to apply to the IMPBA Board of Directors under Section E-II next year to have the rare honor of a "Nationals" distinction added to the name so that we may call our event "The Can-Am Nationals" in the future. We believe we have the facility, the organization, and most importantly the cohesive club to continue to host a truly International event for many years to come. We hope the Board agrees.
Look for a more complete write up in the December IMPBA Roostertail.
