Thanks for the info on the P-Lim Offshore Class.

As for as Open Offshore, bad wording on my part. I was just wondering if there was any possibility of an Open Offshore class for the Gas, big Nitro/FE boats.

We don't usually run offshore up this way in the other "fuel" classes, lemme ask around and see if there's any interest, K?

After talking to a few more experienced FE racers we've decided to drop the ESC and "hull and prop mods only" restrictions to our Limited FE classes.

Apparently the 60 amp ESC that comes with many RTR boats fails easily and is usually replaced by a much cheaper 100 amp unit. Also the "hull and prop mods only" can be misconstrued and confusing.

            So the only restrictions are:

            Stock motors only, 1500/1800/2030 KV.

A little fun competition for the Can-Am Cup Team trophy. Canada versus USA.

The stock esc fails if you over prop........... Sooooooo prop down , Now a newbee has no chance of placing in the top three unless every body flips .
sort of cut'n the new guy / gal off at the knees. ...sweet

                  It really does not matter.
The motor is the fuse in a stock system.
When you over AMP it (0ver 80 Amp's), the stock motor burns, in turn it then burns the stock ESC.
If you use a little better ESC, - It will not burn up if you hurt the motor.

In turn it cost you less if you blow the fuse (motor)
Therefore there is NO advantage to the person running a little better ESC.

The Motor Is The Fuse -80 AMP. MAX.

Let's not foul the thread with an argument that rears it's ugly head every six month. Nothing positive becomes of it and in the end no one changes their opinion. I travel to the races to meet the good folks on the board and just play by the host club's rules.

I would love to see how my Aquacraft controller does against the competition but I'm starting to have doubts on whether I'm going to be able to attend. I've been waiting three weeks to get a copy of my birth Certificate from the State of New York so I can apply for my passport. I'm now in the zone where I'm going to have to pay the expedited fee and time is running out. I've also rented a non refundable house in Niagara Falls for four days.

                      Larry,

The idea is to allow the newbee to be competitive . Not to have all the biggest, fastest , latest, new esc and call it fair with some monetary mumbo jumbo (20 bucks) this is not LMT & SCH equipment.... all the experts will just have to prop down .... (I'm sure they now how to do that ). give the new guy a chance maybe they will come back and join the club get more boats then you can run them into the shore with all the ubecs, cap banks, & hobbykings latest gizmo that doesn't work and let them feel the pain of waiting for parts for eight weeks only to find its the wrong part..... LMAO, and then get no response from HK team. Maybe some one can guide them to OSE and help them make the right choices, like you & Pete did for me when I first started. Sorry about the hijack Terry, I'll cut out now.
                      Cheers, Jay.

I’ve had a few people ask me how this CAN-AM Cup team event works. The goal is to promote fun & friendship between racers of Canada and the USA. Each team will be randomly drawn at the driver’s meeting on Saturday. Each team will consist of 10 racers. The highest scoring boat of each racer will count towards the team’s grand total at the end of the event.

I've been running p-lim classes since their inception and have run everything from the stock controller to a Hydra Ice 240 and the controller has no advantage, thats why I'm back to running the stock controllers in almost all my P-lim setups If I happen to have a blown stock controller I upgrade to a seaking 120 only because they are cheaper than the stock controlles.

Hey Terry after coming back from the nats and running on a full course with the offshore stuff I think 9 or 10 laps would be sufficient for offshore, but it looks like only my girls are signed up right now so it might be a mute point.

                              Mike,

Are the 120 amp seakings water proof like the stock esc ?

                              Cheers, Jay.

4 weeks away and we are already at 82 boats entered on www.rcRacingEvents.com . I have a feeling this is going to be a BIG race. :)
