I missed that race but saw them two weeks earlier in Tauranga.
They are loud and running at Karapiro as seen in the vid is even better as the far side of the lake reflects the sound back for more "atmosphere".
As a note keep your eye on the white boat as see how it runs compared to the black one.
The black one is Peter Knights "Boss" A 18 year old kiwi-built rocket.
The white one is David Alexander of the Annhilator team. It looks very loose on the water and sounds truly amazing as it sponson dances down the straight.
He is a bit of a showman and is a real crowd pleaser.

They are Grand Prix Hydros. Blown methanol drinking big block V8 at about 1600 hp.
Down the straights run around 150-160mph.
Popular here, Australia and a few from the States. The black boat is driven by an American.
