    Hey! rivercats can turn too!

Here's a rivercat I just finished this weekend. It runs frigging awesome for a narrow boat. Here's the maiden voyage yesterday. This video is the very first time it's been in the water...it ran better than I expected.
It doesn't turn like it's on rails, but for sport running it does good!

    Setup:
    -1518 castle 1800kv
-SeaKing 180, larger wires added, cap bank added, motor connectors solder directly to it.
-X443 cnc prop (untouched...weird for me I know!)
    - 6s, (2) venom 5000 50c packs
-aeromarine flex shaft seal, sealed ceramic bearing replaced the original crap bearing
    -decals and windshield by monojeff
    -savox waterproof servo

I am so glad you have found fun under 90 Travis. It can be tuff.
It is clocking real well with a reliable setup.

Yep, after building this one, I'll be building one like it for myself. I had a blast driving it. I think it's owner is going to be very pleased with it! I'm jealous! Lol

            Yep that looks awesome.

I'm racing 2 of these in the form of Apparitions .

Both boats go really well in 4S ans 6S configurations but the 6S is a handful in our choppy windy lake.

A very under rated hull I feel.

Just food for thought .... That dog leg in the rudder extension grabs a lot of water whilst it's running. A lot of spray from the rear. Removing it and keeping it straight proved to be a lot less drag on one of our club members Genesis with the same set up.

I maybe wrong in your case but thought I will pass it on.

I'm not so sure that the bracket is in the water when the hull is on plane......

I think he is refering to the spray off the prop not it being submerged, there is an article about some where, the pressure of the spray on the hardware can create lift on the rear as well

This is the best pic I could find. Prop spray should not be hitting anything......

                    Travis,
Tell me about the hatch bolts you have there.
What is the sealing foam you are using?
Do you run with tape at all?

I'm using 8-32 x 1" long stainless thumb screws. Got them from zoro tools. I get small flat rubber washers to go under the hatch screws from lowes. The ones from home Depot are too big in diameter. The hatch seal is from Keith Bradley. Then you can make some aluminum plates to go under the lip where the hatch sits, thread the holes and epoxy in place. I use no hatch tape at all. It's completely waterproof and safer than tape. I water test all my boats and I submerge them completely for more than a minute. If there is a drop of water inside, I find out why. I havent had a hatch seal leak yet. I cannot tell you how many times I've installed and removed mine. Many, many times. If you dont crank down on the screws, then it will last a long time.
