First oval record attempt

We all had a good laugh at my unorthodox oval record boat and driving style at the Flint, MI record trial event.
The water was too rough all day to run the speeds I wanted to run with this as a SAW boat, so I decided to prop down and try my luck on the oval. To set a 1/3 mile oval record, it takes two consecutive laps around the course. As luck would have it, I set a new record on my first two laps (the former record was pretty old). I kept running and got a little faster on laps 3 and 4, but crashed on the back straight on the 4th lap. After recharging and trying again, I was able to improve my first run by another 4 seconds.
Unfortunately we didn't get the fast run on video, but here's laps 3 and 4 of my first attempt:

Lmao...saw boat on an oval....so fast down the straight it more than makes up for the slower turning. Still turns good tho! You change rudder to do that?

No that's my normal rudder. Only major change was a significant prop-down to x442s. It runs just over 100mph with those, still plenty for oval but about as slow as I'm going to get it without going down in voltage.
The old record was 36seconds and change for two laps, I did it in 28seconds. It seems reasonable to expect it to be 25 seconds or lower though...maybe I'll try again in the spring.

I think I bent the antenna tube on that run, but I was able to bend it back in the pits.

I smacked my fiberglass 114 pretty hard during an attempted SAW pass and busted some gel off the front of the left sponson, but thankfully I reinforced that one substantially, so she stayed together pretty well.
