My 1st Boat Build, Twin Screw 1st testing day at the lake!!!

1st Day of testing for my new twin build and it went well, didn't turn it up obviously cause i'm still learning how to drive it and work the bugs out but she was looking really promising on the water, 80mph is near!!! I'm a newby at this boat game and i'm excited to hit the 70 range. With more experience and leveraging of those who have been doing this for a while I should be able to be successful. Thanks to all who have assisted me thus far, much appreciated and well on my way!

Looking good. You may need to angle the props down a tad....seems like it thinks it's a plane instead of a boat.

Yeah, it was 1st day testing so adjustments have to be made in multiple areas but overall was a good showing. Part of the "flight" behavior was due to my nervousness on the trigger. In my short time in the boat RC world this is the fast boat I have had so the speed and stopping the boat will definitely need some driver practice to keep calm

Nice build and maiden! Just be careful when using part throttle, that is very hard on the ESCs. Better to prop down when wanting to go slow than using a lot of part throttle. Good luck in the search for 80!

Fluid or can someone help me understand why it is more stress on the esc's at half throttle than at full throttle? I totally understand the car and truck aspect of electronics , however, I am fairly young in the RC Boat World. On the surface I thought banging the trigger full throttle would be more damaging / stressful than cruising at half throttle. Any insight you can provide would be awesome! Thanks again for the encouragement as I continue to dial in my build and get faster.

Great maiden video, I really like your build!
The simplest layman's explanation I like to give is that imagine the ESC is a flood gate on a dam, now if you open all the gates and let the water run fully, it is just that. Suppose you open and close the gates all the time constantly, you can't imagine the stress that is experienced by all the mechanical parts of the gate.
When you pull the trigger part way or open and close the throttle, the ESC has to regulate the ripple current, and it is both ways, that's why people add a cap bank to "cushion" that, but the FETs and other parts are still being stressed out.
Full throttle is a healthy thing on any ESC. Do not confuse the mechanical stress with the electrical stress in this case, yeah, may be a motor that is not revving all the time will have a longer life, at least the bearings will last longer, and may be the bushings in your strut/stinger would last longer, but the ESC is not happy and that is what we need to consider first.
Hence, if you want to test at a slower speed, put a smaller prop on and hold hull throttle, it's like gearing down.

Thank you Tlandaur, I appreciate it! That DAM analogy is a good one.... LOL...... I am running X447's on it right now, I'm always looking for props with reverse options props as well. I like where I am at with it right now, I'm gonna do some more testing in a week or so. I think I want to try and move my batteries forward a little more before I start adjusting strut angles.

nice boat you have there. I was looking at some
of your other videos and got a real kick out of this one.
brings a whole new meaning to surface drive....lol

Notice it blows off the water when you get off the throttle. Maby come off much slower as to not upset the boat and she will stay planted.

@ Gary .... I appreciate the fact that you noticed that, I was telling my boys it was driver error when it kept blowing over cause I didn't have experience driving a boat as fast. Until this point I didn't have a boat that was out of the 50's , now I have 2 going 70-80+ and 1 mid to upper 60's soon to be in the 70's! ( This Twin was the 1st and is now running Mid 80's! ) Here's the latest video of the Twin and her progress!
