Aerial RC Boat Racing Video

A few guys showed up at our District race this weekend with a Hex Copter/Gopro/FPV set up and shot some video.
I think it's some of the coolest RC Boating video I have ever seen. Hope to get them out to our district race in June.

Seriously, it was a Kayak. The host club usually chases those guys away to the other side of the lake but they missed this one. I'll admit, not the best safety protocol. But this will probably be the last race held at this pond. Good Catch!

None of my business and forgive me for asking, why would it be the last time? It's such a great place, I guess I always get carried away when I see a beautiful lake where RC boats can be run. Sorry for the rant!

No problem. The pond is located within a state park and they have a new ranger who doesn't want anyone driving on the grass. That would be a long walk from the parking lot to the hot pits and with allot of older boaters in the district, that's not going to fly. It is a nice site but there have been other safety concerns. It is a shame as the club has been running there for decades. But the Baltimore club acquired a new site that is even more beautiful on a closed army base. Though people worry how long the site will be available to us as the area develops.

Tony, I didn't even notice the kayak until Doby posted it. Apparently, same for everyone else during filming as they were all looking toward the sky at the hex-copter.
