My new top speed, 84.5 mph

Me and the family went out today for some family run time and I broke my best speed.
Jae hit 84.5 mph. Need to remind daughter not to turn video off till we get the gps out. Went to back it up and wound up doing a barrel roll instead, only hitting 74.
Next I tried a 4s battery in it and went 64.6 mph.

    couple more videos from yesterday.
first one is Ul-1, gps showed 42. need to do some tweaking.
Next is wife running her Shock Wave (V2), put gps in for fun and went 28.5 mph.
Then tested the rescue boat with new net on it in case we get one that starts to take on water.

sure don't look to be doing 84 mph ,with the tight turns you done is where your reading are coming from . I have witnessed jae 21 nr going 90+ mph on radar heat race trim. and yours is way off the mark.

My Jae with a Neu 1415 ABC H7 and Hyperion 4S 5000mah 45c did like 61mph on this GPS.

If anything I like to think its way low, not way high!

get it radar'd back to back with the gps on board , then you will get the truth . a stalker unit or other high end radar gun , forget the bushnell speedsters they are junk.

Unless you made a prop change, the second video down looks and sounds the fastest. The RPM sounds just a bit higher than in the first vid.

MY HK GPS is pretty consistent, but reads about 3mph low every time. I have confirmed this with other GPS units, radar, and official speed traps...that doesn't mean that they are all that way, but I can say the the calibration is a bit off on mine.
If your boat is running 84-85mph, it should be easy to confirm or reject that reading. Just run it again with the same setup and see what you get. If it's more than a mph or two difference, then it could have been a bad reading. Also, try to make long, straight runs. The ovals aren't very accurate for GPS readings.

LET ME BE CLEAR: I'm not making an assessment of how fast your boat is or isn't going. I don't run riggers so I couldn't honestly give a fair judgment on how fast it looks. I'm just sharing my experience with GPS, as there seems to be some questioning of your results. If you say it runs 84mph, I believe you. Just trying to help.

Thanks Keith. I did check the gps with a second one and the speedo in my truck and they all read the same. as for the set up did not change anything from the first run to the second, except for the battery. I am running a CC1515 2200, T-180 turning a Zipp Kits modded 1450 on 5s batteries. Batteries are Zippy's 5000 40-50c rating. I know they are not the best but they are new with about 8-10 runs total on them. I have tried a H-7 prop with some cup in it done by Doug Smock and it did not like it at all. Slowed way down (63 mph) not sure if it is to much rpm for the prop or what. As for backing up the 84 mph I have not been able to do it yet. Boat does run consistently at 75 mph. Still playing with the set up with the turn fin, Boat pulls the the right HARD, so I have a lot of left rudder in it. Also looking at trying a different prop, just not sure as to which one. So was the 84 mph reading do to a turn, I don't know maybe/ maybe not. Didn't think I was make that tight of a turn. Next time out I will try to run it straight and slow down before I turn and see what happens.

Just my personal observation, the second vid the one with the barrel roll looks & sounds faster than the first vid. Its also smoother in the second vid, as I said just my personal opinion based on looks.

I said the same thing Martin while on the phone with Bud. 84 seems a bit high, 75 is believable.
