Hey all thought i should introduce myself. Have been into rc for years, starting off in the early 80's with a grasshopper/hotshot, moving into nitro cars/buggys/trucks as they progressed, now back to brushless cars, planes and heli's, so though it was about time i added a boat to the collection. Its nothing special, just a HK Osprey, T-180 esc, Leopard 4082 1800kv running 6S and x450 octura prop. I thought it was fast enough for starters but am now searching for more speed. An upgrade is planned for next winter, 300A HV swordfish, TP Pro Comp 5092 motor and carbon fiber lining to start it off running 10S should give a nice speed increase.

Temps were warm not to the point that i had to worry. Might be a bit different when the water temps are a bit warmer, at the moment they are below 8 degrees celcius, motor and esc are on different cooling lines. When i bought the boat it had this setup, but running an x447/3, but the previous owner was running 2x 6S paralleled, i am running 2X 3S in series to remove a little weight.
Dropped a 2200kv 4082 Leopard in running 6S with a m447, ran a full 5000mah pack through it, esc got a little warmer than i would have liked (still need to get a thermometer) but was able to hold the esc and motor for around 8 seconds in a closed hand within 1 minute of taking it off the water, which is the same method i use for my cars/planes. Might drop this setup down to 5S for the next test but i am planning on pushing this setup to breaking point just to see how fast i can get it. Have 2 spare motor/esc combos sitting here to replace it when it goes.Cars and planes are for fun... Boats are for serious racingBust Out Another Thousand
