I took apart a Leo 3674 today for 1st time and I noticed it had a significantly longer rotor than a 4074 rotor I have. Not much thinner either. Might be why the numbers are better?????

Ray did the 4074 motor have the wires coming straight out of the end cap or coming 90degrees out of the side of the can. Martin.

              Interesting...

These are ARC motors. They seem to perform pretty well. I can accurately predict at this point how much speed I will gain when making changes. I'm fairly confident I can hit 90 with it.

Arc motors rock. I still cant believe more FE boaters dont use them.

I still can't believe I sold mine.... Not smart considering the price increase on ARC motors recently. A good 10% increase!

The motor had wires coming out at 90* That really doesn't matter for Leo motors I find... Or that I know of???

Ray all the 40 series motors that have the wires coming out at 90degrees are car specific motors even though some use them in boats are different inside to the 40 series motors that are boat motors where the wires come straight out of the end cap. The end caps are also have cooling slots in both ends, the boat specific motors differ inside as they have more magnets than the car motors to produce more torque for boat use. The reason i say this is because the rotor has more magnets & should also be longer aside a 3674 motor where as the car motor rotor is the same length as the 3674 motors. This info re 40 series motor differences between car & boat motors was straight from leopard factory tech dept when i spoke with then re motor differences. Its only the 40 series motor that differ inside all the other Leopard series motors ie 28series, 36, 56 are all the same motors inside just the 40 series differ. Martin.

Do the 3674 Leo's for boats have vented end caps? or did you already answer that in a round a bout way?

Ray in sure Steven Vaccaro can confirm this that most of the Leopard motors he has in the OSE shop are vented can motors, i know the 3674 is as i was interested in one of these myself & asked him if they were vented & they were. The 4092 i bought from OSE was also vented. If you buy from places like Ebay & other model outlets most sell unvented end caps you need someone that gets boat specific motors to have the vented end caps. As i said all the other motors are the same inside apart from the 40 series motors.

Most of the blurbs on Leo motors at OSE shop say there are vented cans but, the 3674 units. If I am buying any, I will ask Steve first.
