ProBoat Impulse 26 Brushless vs Stock

Got my pops an impulse 26 for xmas. Wifey drove it and liked it so we picked her one up last week. Decided to throw a brushless system in my dads. Here is a video of the stock impulse vs the brushless conversion. After re-painting of wife's will do the same. This boat is a blast on 5s.

very nice looks like it handles the power very well!

I would love for more people to discover these Impulse 26's!

For what they are, they handle VERY well, and are pretty inexpensive, but VERY fun boats to run.

I have done a lot of testing with them, and have tested some 3000KV 2S/3S power systems, etc.. they seem to handle the power fine.

One thing I'd recommend is to be careful how you lubricate the flexshafts. The shafts are LONG, due to the motor location, and thick grease causes a LOT of drag, which is hard on the power system. Use something that lubes, but isn't really heavy/thick. Will free up a mph or two...

What would you suggest lubing with? I have been using plane old marine greese. ALthough it seems to be working fine this set up, 1300kv Tacon, runs luke warm. I like over powering the boat but at the same time the system itself isn't being pushed too hard.

The Pro Boat or GrimRacer grease works well.

For racing, where I re-lube on a regular bases (somethings between heats, but definitely no more than a couple of runs between lubes) I will use grease on the stub-shaft and in the bushing, and then a very light coating of grease, and some outboard lower-unit oil lube...
