    Is that the Promise Hobby hull Doby? I'm curious as to your thoughts on how it handles since I'm planning to soon build another cat and power it with a single 2028 for use in open cat against the gas guys in my area.
    If there's a build thread on it a link would be greatly appreciated as well.

        Hi Bill;

        Yup, it is a promise Hobby hull, not the carbon version though...Its built like a tank so it needs some pretty serious power to move it. I've tried various options and the big LMT moves it well. I don't think I did a build thread on this (I've had it for 3 years) but if you would like some pics, PM me and I'll send some your way. On the day the vid was taken there were gusts into the 40's and it stayed planted on the water with no issues.

        Frank (at Promise) builds a pretty good hull (a bit heavy, but better than to light) in my opinion, I've got three of his hulls.

          Hello - i was looking at this Hull. It looks real nice. a couple questions. It says in the specs on EBay that the hull weighs 2200g or 4.8 pounds empty. Is that correct? How much does your boat weigh fully loaded?

              Fully loaded its probably pushing around 17 Lbs, never really weighed it. Its porky, but it will take a pounding and thats (in my opinion) what you want in a big boat. The 4.8 Lbs sounds about right for the hull weight.

              Keep in mind....big LMT motor (weighs a lot), qty 4, 5S batteries (weighs a lot), big Schultze controller (weighs a lot), big hardware, prop ...etc....etc...sense a trend happening here?

              With my new props (haven't had a chance to try them yet as winters setting in) it should be in the mid to upper 50 range....competitive enough for the oval racing we do. In race water, weight can be your friend sometimes.....just sucks to be the pitman who has to carry it around

                Wow. For a thread that had been sitting quietly for almost a month, this got really busy all of a sudden. No real need to send pix Doby but am curious if you used the standard rails that came in it and also the ma of the packs you are running. With it being a 41" hull I ws thinking it might be a little bit crowded with 4 5s packs.
                I have one of the Promise 47" mono's myself and am happy with it. I was actually prowling the ebay store this morning looking at the cats before running across your video thread here.

                  Hi Bill;

                  There is a TON of room inside for qty 4, 5S Packs.....thats certainly not an issue! I'm running 4 25C 5000 mAh Turnigys and yes, I use the standard rails..1/4" plywood I belive.
                  Remember also that Franks hulls all come with the white bottom as standard, he will do them all one color but you have to ask. He didn't charge me any extra for mine.
