    Fightercat Daytona #068 on 1580's and 6s

Newest video of testing out FC's 1580's on 6s. Speeds are picking up but handling at lower speeds is still a task. My COG is moved a bit but I still think I need to get it back further. Maybe someone has some info they can input? All and any welcome

I thought on sat. your boat seemed to run a little wet. Can you move the batteries or adjust the drives? What is the slow speed handling problem? I really wanted to get a good look at your setup at the pond but the day was just too short.
The video looks good with the sun in the background. Good thing you didn't do much damage those concrete walls down there would make me nervous.

Slow speeds seem to make her flirt side to side and not more to one side than the other. It just depends on which way it torque's to first. I have to correct the steering to much it seems. Once she's up on plane, she flies, no issue's. Seems like to much of the front of the hull is in the water. I'm beginning to think I should move my steering servo back all the way and place the ESC's in between the motors.

Is there any slop in your steering linkage? Are you over-correcting the steering? My full size v-hull boat wanders from side to side something terrible at off plane speeds. I found out most v-hulls tend to do this. Point of the story is I was always over-correcting my steering making it worse. Just a far fetched thought.
Or you could just go fast all the time....problem solved, it is a "fast" electric boat after all! lol

I thought maybe the linkage was suspect at first some time ago. I swapped the single wire link to a dual link. I do see a bit off give in the rods and thought about using some CF tubing as guides but I thought it was a bit of overkill. It may be an idea as a second thought to go ahead and do so. Now my thought is the rudder. It's a 115mm but I dont know if I should try longer or shorter. I love the high speeds. I wish I could run it all the time! Next time out I'm going to test the range of the transmitter/receiver combo. It's been a small topic of discussion on the fightercat boards so I going to be the guinea pig:). The canal is a perfect place to test it. Its only about 50 yards across but almost a 1/4 mile long!

I use 4/40 rod inside carbon fiber tube for steering rods on both mt PT Stealth and my PS295 tunnel. What radio are you using?

I don't use the tube as a guide but actually epoxy thr threaded rod into the ends of the tube. So the tube with the threaded rod at the ends makes up my linkage rod.

Flysky FSGT3B. So maybe my thought about the tube is not so far fetched after all. Next time were out, take a closer look at my setup and let me know what you think. I know the servo is strong enough but maybe my rods are to weak.

I'm trying to get used to the expo and trim settings. Is anyone in the group good with setting up the transmitters. I could use a bit of help/knowledge on using the extra settings.

What size rod are you using? I wanted to get a good look at your setup last week. Between getting mine and my sons boats charged, taped and ready it was crazy. When both my sons come it gets even crazier. There have been times when I have not even got a chance to run. lol

Its the weight vs hull design. Dont over analyze it. Your set up is probably fine and you did nothing wrong. Narrow hull and at slow speeds it wobbles and goes all over the place. HPR hulls do the same thing. Hanspeter (HPR) told me to change my rotation of the props and it would help. The standard is to run the props "in" left on the right and right on the left. Switch them around and see if it helps. It made a bit of a difference on mine. Still does it, but not as bad.

Here, this does it at about a minute in. Im not swerving it like that.. its doing it on its own.

Not trying to cramp your vid w/ other vids, just showing you its pretty normal. Easiest way to stop it is to go fast.

Or this one at 45 seconds in....

I think it's 4/40. I have to look at my receipts from Kintek. I was thinking about running it through the tube to prevent bending while turning.

Those guys are really helpful, if you are unsure or need help just ask. I'm still always asking them for advice, they've been running FE longer then I have.
