    Turnigy Lipo Issue

Ran into a issue my Turnigy nano-tech. This battery has less then 5 runs on it, when i plugged it into my charger showed connection break. I checked everything reset the charger and same thing. I hooked my small cell checker to it and it showed dead. I then checked the overall voltage with a meter and it checked normal. I pushed on top of the battery where the plugs are attached while having the cell checker hooked up and bingo it worked. I then tore down the battery and found a crack in a connection tab. I repaired the tab and cell now works. Those (like all my batts) are always properly stored and well maintained they where never dropped or abused.

Wow, the only thing I'd be doing with a cell like that is putting it in a bucket of salt water for a few days!!
Do or do not, there is no try!!!!!

I took two 5s's that were underwater for a week and found 3 bad cells(slightly puffed and low voltage). I unwrapped them and carefully pulled the cells apart. Carefull meaning not letting any metal cutting instrument close a circuit by accidentally touching it etc................... I then soldered the tabs together in two and made two 2 cell batts. Amazingly they work like they are supposed to. It's a matter of personal preference to perform surgury on a dangerous item since they can be replaced for 30-50 bucks...................
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I haven't got that far yet. I do have a 3s 2200 that arrived with a dead cell that I want to make a 2s out of. Haven't done that type of surgery before though. The fix above was pretty easy.
