Phil Thomas Super Sport 45 First Run

Well I had a chance to take her out to the pond by our house for the first test run, the pond is small so couldn't open her up for a good straight run so next pond will be where I usually run at where I can go WOT.
Temps were cool 102F, amps were 110 spiked at 185. I see it has a hop when turning, I'm not sure if it's because of the slow speed or needs adjustment? Guess I'll see at the big pond how it acts.

The hop was due to low speed cornering. My nitro SS 45 does it as well when milling at low speeds.

Looks great !! Lower the strut and your hop should go away. Had the same problem with mine.

Kinda thought it was the low speed but will lower the strut a bit. Thanks guys

Mabe but the boat should glide around slow or fast. Mark your strut where it is now so you have your starting point, and then adjust.

Gary I put a mark on where it is if I need to go back. The strut is level and measures 7/8" from the bottom of the hull to the bottom of the strut. I'll lower it 1/8" and try it next time out. Much appreciated.

I think I get what you mean by gliding. So if the strut is set to high, the air getting under creating the lift will cause the prop to pull out of the water causing it to hop. Wew hope I'm seeing this right and making sense.
