    CF Starship

Here ia my starhip! I bought a CF shell, and got all the rest of the hardware from Jim, over at MiniCatRacing.
    Stats:
    - carbon fiber shell, reinforced.
    - 3600 hobbywing KV motor
    - 60A hobbywing ESC
    - 3S Lipo battery
    - Y531 prop

Sorry about the bad vid. I just got her going.
Later in the run the last prop shaft I had broke. It twisted it in half!
The.098 flex cable is not a smoth of a curve in it as I would like.
Did I set it up wrong, or do I need an shaft upgrade? This is the 3rd shaft on this boat I broke.

Did you ever figure out why you were breaking shafts? We've never heard of a problem like this on the Tenshock boats but then it isn't really a Tenshock setup, just the hull.

Dam, I was hoping you would know Salr!
Is is possible to torque .098 flex cable apart with this setup?
Also, I did just notice that the Octura Flex Hex coupler has a little wobble in it, so perhaps a combination of the 2 did it?

are you using the factory shaft or something else you bought? I have never heard of twisting off our factory shaft in any of the Tenshock boats except you only started with a Tenshock hull, not the full setup. Did you put the stuffing tube in yourself? ? Where is the shaft breaking...inside the tube or at the motor or prop end?

Do have a teflon liner in the stuffing tube? If the teflon is damaged, that can eat shafts! If no teflon, what size is the stuff tube? If too big, it can let the shaft twist up inside the tube.

That prop may be too much! Try an Octura X430 or one of our carbon props, 30mm pitch.

Ray: Wow, never seen anything like that. On mine the driv dog is nearly against the strut, not backwards.

Jim, no, it is not a factory set up. I received the hull as a surprise present. So, I had to set it all up my self, using stuff I had. I used a .098 flex cable (2.49 mm) with Teflon liner

IN the garage today, I could not reproduce the slight wobble I saw last it run. The shaft broke about 2 inches from the coupler.

I run quite a hot set up in a Warrior 15" & have used their stock flex ( i believe this is the same/simular ) to the Velocity flex which is a chinese made flex with hundreds of runs on them & have only ever snapped one before. Have had to relace more due to coupling end of flex coming untwisted after a lot of use. So decided to try what i thought would be a better shaft & fitted an Octura .098" flex, The flex sheared in 2 on the first day out. It felt very soft & flexy, To flexy in my opinion. Martin.
