New motor in Miss Vegas Hydro.

Was running great for a change. Got kinda hot and wire came unsolidered off esc!!!
Had to break out the rescue boat.
    Hydra 120 esc. 8XL motor on 4s, 642 prop.
Just a raw vid taken by my 10 yr old son.
My work boat has 12,000 HP!!!

What size connectors do you have on the motor/esc leads? What kind of solder did you use? You should replace the connectors with 5.5mm gold bullets and then use silver bearing solder. The 642 prop is a bit much, prop down to a 442 or M445.

It has 5.5mm and silver solider, but i do believe it was just too much prop. Was also using the stock esc 18g wire. Gonna upgrade that also.
But it gave me a chance to use the rescue boat.

Thanks. I remember seeing yours and was wondering if it ever ran.
Not sure how fast it is? It seems alot faster than my Prince mono that was GPS'd at 42mph.

Nice!! I bet that 18g wire is a little small for that setup. I was running that prop and it was fine temp wise (10 gauge wire, Turnigy 180 controller, 1515-1Y and (2) 4S 5000 packs). Where is your batt placement. It was always a challenge getting them in there for me.

Jerry - Sounds like your vegas was a dog with the UL-1. That's too bad, I was hoping to put the UL-1 motor in and race it this year.

I put the batteries as far forward as they would go. I had them about 3 inches from the front the other day and she flipped way to easy.
I will probably leave this prop on and just upgrade the esc.
