    Motley Crew test run

I went out and test ran a boat I setup for a buddy of mine.. the boat ran nice but still needs a bit more tuning. It was windy on the front so I had to ease on the power.. good fun

    Grimracer Speed Packs (4200mah)
Grimracer 4255 prop (I think.. I can not remember for sure.. tried a bunch of props that day)

Ignore the date on the cam

Nice video! That looks like a great setup for Offshore racing.
BTW. It was a m445... At least that's what you said at the end of the video.

While I didn't run a plethora of props, the best one I tried on the prototype for overall performance was an m445.

                yea Darin.. thanks

We call it Rocket Park Pond. The pond is small but we can run tunnels and smaller boats on it. Nice thing is the water is clean and its only about one mile from work.

I really enjoy the MC and UL-1 for that matter. With a few minor tweaks the MC has proven to be worthy in the saltwater and small chop. I have upgraded the shaft and ran it with 42-55 prop and M440 with success. I put the batteries about a inch back from the backside of the stuffing box. I have 50 runs + on it and its holding up well with proper maintenance. Its real small next to my Conquest, but I still like it a lot. I drive it every night from the back of my sailboat.

Are you running 4S1P or 4S2P? I doubt 4S1P would make 4 minutes for offshore?

I run the M445 on my offshore cat as well. Great prop!

                              Welcome!
If you have a stock MC, then you run 2x2s. You need no less than 5000Mah capacity and two 2 cell ( 2x2s) lipos hooked up in series is the way to go, total voltage is 14.8. One thing to remember is when you buy lipo batteries for boats especially, pay attention to the DISCHARGE RATE of the battery. You don't want anything below 40C. Makers usually give a min. and max range, i.e. 40C continuous and 90C burst. It can be also labeled this way: 40C-90C. Attention should be paid to the continuous rate.
You can run parallel, with two 4 cell lipos ( 2x4s) in parallel, but because of the room limitation i n the hull, I wouldn't know what capacity of 4 cell ( 4s) lipos to advice you to buy.
Stock boat is set up to run 2x2s in series with Deans plugs.
BTW, there is a dedicated section for Aqua Craft and specifically Motley Crew, might get better answers in the future if you post there.
Too many boats, not enough time...
