And what they mean by "specifically allowed by the Director" is a written contract to do so.
So just some things to think about.

Calgary and Edmonton clubs (D16) get along just great. No BS and things run pretty smooth
Were we are having a issue is getting a electric class going. Some don't want to follow rules that are set up by NAMBA. Not a big issue as as a club we can allow most anything to run. Points may not be awarded but no big deal.
I remember one year Andy and the BC boys let me run my Proboat 1/8 Bud gas with them in gas mono.
D16 has run many times in BC (Chilliwack too) over the years. Even though it's been some time.
Byron in BC you know how hard it is to get a pond to run on. When you do you protect it.
I have been trying to get a electric class going for two years. We have tried to get the gas guy's as well. They all say they want to race but never show up.
I would still race if I only ran one boat a day.
We are not just a club of guy's that meet every couple of weeks and run boats.
We are integral parts of each others lives. We see each other outside the club at weddings, parties, funerals you name it.
This is what makes the boat racing community so great.
I need the Edmonton electric guy's to work with me, get classes set up and become part of the solution not an addition to the problem.
The problem being members. It's hard to gain new members and everyone helps and is an asset to the clubs.
Both Edmonton an d Calgary have members that have not run a boat in some time that show up to CD, launch boats, set up the course ETC.

            P.S.
Byron get your guy's to sign up to www.namba16.ca
Let us know what s going on and we'll see if we can't make it up to your area for a race.

Time to $hit or get off the pot about what.....??

You are paying insurance fee's because a club or race club to run there event in public are required to do so . My House / content insurance policy has a public liability clause that covers me to a million dollars in fact most do , I have already checked into that with my insurance broker and was assured I was covered . We the 5 of us do not need to run the same insurance since we are not holding a sanctioned contest in public .

Even if we wanted to join D16 to race it really wouldn't make any sense to us cause no three of us have a boat in the same class , we are all over the board with what we run . Winning for me wouldn't mean anything unless it was a fair contest across the board either

We phoned the number that you / the billboard supplied and talked to the person / lady in that department . If it takes a written permission to run then thats the direction we need go .

I am going to put this in neutral here and say up until post #13 was the first time I flung a personal attack in your direction , all other replies to you had a certain level of respect to you , You have always been a decent guy Kevin when a conversation has sprung up so I have always held you in high regard . The youtube video was REMOVED as a good will gesture towards the Edmonton D16 club - and my apologies for even posting it . I / we really appreciate the fact you are willing to take the time to make running as legal and safe as possible for us........Thank you

We all agreed to take this a little higher with the cities reservoir and if it takes a written paper then thats what it takes , If I must join Namba to run legally then so be it .

None of us at this point want to race we just meet the occasional sat/sun and run what ever be brought that day , we just do not want to commit the time to a club but leave that open for the future . We know your schedule and will not interfere with your runs just leave us the option to come cheer you guys on if we come to watch .

Just out of curiosity what are the fee's , Byron's input on them sending money but being ignored doesn't score any points either

The fees are 75.00 a year. Covers your insurance and representation in case of a claim. Covers everything your home policy does not. Yes home insurance will cover certain things. Now tell your insurance you were doing so against a bylaw and things change real quick. The fees also cover insurance to the city, lease and use of this area.
I will PM you as some things need not be seen by everybody.
