The fastest, the nicest, EKOS

Ok, so I dont really know if mine's the fastest OR the nicest, but I figured it would get people's attention.
I really didnt plan on this boat being that fast when I first started building it...that seems to happen a lot though. I may end up slowing it down a bit once I find out what it can do (the boat Im currently building will be faster, so this one can rest a little). This is a "right off the trailer" type run. There are a lot of adjustments to be made, and I havent found the right settings for this motor/esc combo yet.

This run is on a small lake, so there is very little full throttle action (not to mention I dont want to flip it). I think I got into it pretty hard for a second during the 1st and 4th passes.

I think I have a couple different pulls on Youtube. One at like 5-6psi where it made 230whp and one at like 11.5psi where it made 318whp. We have a mustang dyno, and thats SAE whp so alot of cars we dyno make 50hp more on other chassis dynos. 318whp on our dyno is enough to get you high 11's with slicks. There's more power there...that turbo is capable of about 600whp. I don't go over maybe 13psi though. That car has 201k and I drive it every day 140miles to work and back.

Yes 5s per side. It had a bit more power with more timing but Im trying to find a setting that will keep the current draw as low as possible. This run was at 5 deg and 12khz PWM.

Thanks. Yeah It's not going to top out in that pond for sure. Funny story about the GPS:
The first itme I ran it, I didn't have a GPS in since I was just setting it up. After a couple minutes of run time, I decided to put the GPS in. The first pass I tried to make it hit the LVC when I got into the throttle hard, so I wasn't able to get a full speed reading.
This time I figured I would put the GPS in right away and get a speed reading. I ran the boat for the video I posted, and another video as well. I brought the boat in to check the GPS and it wasn't in it. Guess who left the GPS sitting on the table
I put the GPS in and taped it back up to try and get at least one run on GPS, even if it's with low batteries. Guess what? Just in time for the LVC to kick in! I got one run where I was very close to full throttle and one side cut out. The GPS read 70mph. I figure thats not bad for that small area regardless. I think with some room and tuning, I should be close to 80mph. I expect low to mid 70's next time out.

I have a set of these motors going in my EKOS but I was planning to stick with 4S. After watching that vid I might have to try a 5S pass now and then.

Nothing on the windsheild at all
I have a few things I've been considering because I know something should be done, but haven't done anything with it yet. This boat hasn't been off it's feet yet. I put it in the water and I could tell it was going to blow over if I nailed it, so I brought it in a moved the batteries forward a bit and adjusted the struts. COG was originally at ~30% from the sponson transoms, but now probably somewhere around33-35% (just moved it, haven't measured). That's pretty much the setup in the vid. It's pretty stable so far, as long as the driver doesn't get stupid

I actually think they would be great on 4s. They obviously run well on 5s but I have yet to get the current draw in an acceptable range. I think they would be a bit more efficient on 4s. I'm definitely pushing the limits of outrunners in this boat. I'm considering going with something around 1900kv and I bet I can still get 70 with it on 5s.
