UL-1 Whiplash with ABC 1816/3 prop

Boat was ill handling on this day with limited testing using the 1816/3 (lots of on/off throttle, turnfin blowing out in turns, etc). More strut and turnfin adjustments will be made. Boat is a missle otherwise. I have had better tests using other props.

Was that the stock fin?? I'm going to try the Thicker Aquacraft UL1 fin for giggles and I'm on the waiting list for one of Mr Tyndall's fins.

That was the Virginia Craftsman or Mr.Tyndalls Sport 20 fin. Fin will pull down in turns better with a more upward angle adjustment. That was a poor run...more things to try.

I hated the two 3 blade props that I tested on my Whip I had to put extra weight on the tail to keep it from hopping and it cornered terrible.

Has anyone ever tried a RightHand rotation prop in a hydro? Torgue roll will pull against turnfin side of boat. I wonder how well it would corner?

I also plan on using extended hardware on stern of boat. This will move my prop and rudder 3/4" inch farther out. This would put after plane closer to 60/40 rule.

I am thinking a smallish m445 or m545 prop with the higher spinning Neu 1518 2340kv motor and more weight added to the hull is just the ticket. The higher spinning smaller prop and added weight will reduce the chine walk in the corners and down the straits. Expensive crazy fun.

Standing in the water while running your boat is not a safe practice.

Can I quote you on that? I'll put that in my signature.

detox, make sure the strut is flat with no angle when using the abc 3 blade cleaver props.

and at times you might have to do a bit of back cutting to help reduce the lift of the units.

with the exception of my twin FE mono, I run nothing BUT abc props.

carlcisneros, The first run I had strut set TOO deep causing stern to ride high out of water. On that run in video (my second using that prop) the strut was set too shallow. The next run i will set it a little deeper and flat on the setup board.

I am curious to see how a righthand rotation prop will handle. I am thinking there would be less chine walk all around course. The 1816/3 is available in righthand rotation also.

                    Thanks for the tip.

Looks fast! Have you been able to hold the throttle down with other props?

The m445 was held wide open , but boat was slower without steeper ride pads on sponsons.
