Oh man, I did not know they were keeping the DX7
and this is a new model at that!
that will possibly be my next radio, as I have the DX6i right now and thought about the DX8

I have both a dx6 and a dx7... I actually prefer the dx6 in ease of use... And the dx7 has known faults... One being don't ever remove the tx battery with the radio on or you will be sending it back into horizon to be reprogrammed... I think it end up trying to use the internal battery that's sole use is for memory to try and maintain juice to the whole radio... Anyway when I first started out I used the dx6i... Thought I needed a dx7... For most my planes the dx6 was perfect and so easy to use... In fact I have found myself reverting back to it away from the dx7... I guess if I was flying much more complex aircraft it would be more useful to have a radio with all the features the dx7 and dx8 do...

Anyway for me I love the 40-60 inch 3d's... My all time favorite is my PA aerobatics extra 260... It's NOT a profile plane and is absolutely beautiful carbon over balsa... Light as can be... 48" wingspan that you can "scale" land in a very small area because of it's super light weight... But u can hover it down of course too:)

I am not sure if they are still offering the original dx7, I thought they discounted it. The new DX7s isn't on the market just yet. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=SPM7800

I believe you are right about the older 7 and this new 7 looks killer, and will probably replace my DX6i

                Diesel,

I looked into it, and the UMX Ultra 300 motor appears to be slighter more powerful than the stock T-28 motor. I'm going to look into retrofitting it into my T-28 when I rebuild it here shortly and see how it works.

I need to replace the fuse on mine... the motor keeps breaking loose from the foam on the upper half... one too many nose ins while trying to do spectacular maneuvers too close to the ground!!

That should be interesting. Let me know how that goes. A Sukhoi 26xp motor may provide a little more as well speed as well: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=PKZUM1016 . I think the T28 motors are 8.0mm and the sukhoi is a 8.5m. My fuse was spotless "until I got the bright idea to let the wife fly" lol.... She had fun though and a little ca later good as new. I reinforced my nose a little with small pieces of cardboard ca'd in place. Pretty tough now. I cheap bolt in for a little extra speed would be nice.

For me, these Micros are the cat's meow! They are fun to fly, and don't take up much space at home. Plus they are inexpensive to buy, and repair, and they look VERY COOL.

I'm thinking of getting the Mosquito next!!

                        Or maybe the Corsair...

I know I was taking a chance getting a aerilon plane for my first. I was afraid the micro would be a little too twitchie for me but I see one in my future.

Here is a twin I like playing with on the simluator.

I actually found, after flying a non-aileron plane for my first, that the aileron plane is WAY easier... It reacts a little quicker, but you can program dual rates and make it more docile...

The T-28 Trojan was my first plane in about 20-years, and it is VERY easy to fly. It reacts gently to most inputs and has a nice, easy glide in for landing.

I have been leaving the landing gear off of mine and just landing on the belly.

Only caveat to all this is that if there is ANY appreciable breeze... they all become a little darty...

Do it. It's a blast. I know on my Corsair I have a lot of spare parts lol. Cowls, motor mounts extra set of wings. LOTS OF CA Foam safe glue lol. These parkzones are amazingly tough and quick miner repairs!

Yea I agree, I started flying a 3-channel trainer and the turn with rudder only is kinda weird, I like the 4-channel better IMO....

I belly land my Corsair air as well. I used some aviation erosion tape on the leading edges of the wings, it stops them for getting nicked up while belly landing.
