Nice riptide... Nice to see you running my old boat... She's pretty..I think your angle and teflon might be both the issue...... If the angle is off the tightness of the Teflon can "inflate" the problem... But sure is nice seeing the old sniper go... The dual rudder setup looks good.... Now let's see you stay on the gas a little more through the turns too....:) haha .... Again great run, And good call running her on 8s to work the bugs out too.... I'm a terrible conservative at times...

Very nice video Brian but I cringed when I saw the playground with the kids so close to the ponds edge. I've seen runaway boats fly through the air and I also watched my Sniper poke a large hole in my clubs retrieval boat. Everyone, please be very carefull where and when you run.

Brian you are relatively light at 19lbs , my Sniper fully loaded is close to 24lbs if not more . These boats will do a hairpin turn at full throttle provided the bulk of the internal weight is close to the center .

some hair pin turns with mine

the little boy was asked to stay well clear of the waters edge after this run , didn't really notice him at the time

I was talking to Randy aka rearwheelin about liability on the phone the other day ...at 40mph this boat doesn't lift, but if the electronics failed at WOT there could be trouble. Does anyone have insurance like the flight hobbyists?

Wow, you have a nice running sniper ...great balance of speed and agility. Did you do a build thread for it? Are you running a stinger and 1/4" cable, no teflon?

No teflon at all and a 1/4" cable........over the winter I upgraded to a stainless steel tube , word has it they are a lot tougher than brass , we shall see

here is the build thread , I will be starting my next Sniper build here shortly but with a Lehner 3080/7 pretty much the same setup like the red Punisher boat , this one will be named the "Predator"

NAMBA and IMPBA membership gives you insurance coverage for our hobby ($1 mil to $2 mil-check with the appopriate organization for more information). You need to be following their safety rules.

So does your Homeowners/Renters insurance (typically $100,000 limit but more can be purchased cheaply). It's best to check with your insurance company to verify that hobbies such as ours are covered.

Peter I would love to hear more about the lubrication reservoir shown ...is it actively dumping motor oil into the stuffing tube?

LOOKS GREAT RIP, very nice looking boat. Once you get here running good and reliable she will be a gem...

Pineville Park... I have crashed there many times lol. I actually ran my UL1 right by where you are standing with the video lol long time ago though... The water level there where pretty low for a while. We started running at a friends community with a pond down in Matthews. mdunham is his screen name. He hasn't been on for a while, but I talk to him almost everyday on the phone..... There about 4 guys right around your area. I am in north meck. Takes me about 30-35ms to get down that way.

Yes it does , the flex shaft and the screw action inside tended to draw it out slowly

It actually worked to good and tended to make a mess out the coupler end so I removed it , I grease my flex shaft after every run and have never had an issue with it . The oiler was just a small nitro motor fuel tank and I had Amsoils 250 weight differential oil in it
