That's a project we did for Burning Man 2007 at Castle. Was quite cool -- 3D LED projector.

And BTW, Castle Holdings is a Kansas LLC that wholly owns the factory in China (Castle Zhongshan Electrical and Motor)

We have absolutely no affiliation, connection, relationship whatsoever with Leopard motors in Shenzhen, and never did.

Cool stuff, thanks for sharing and the insight. Its nice to get things straight!

When did this Factory in China come online? I'm sure someone else is going to ask me, so are the esc's made there also?

        Hi Steven,

We've had a factory in China for almost three years now.

The ESCs are are built here in the USA, only motors are made in China.

        Thanx!

I for one have to say thanks for clearing that up. I guess some were in the "know" yet failed to inform the rest of us. Not that its a big thing. Just seems like this could have been cleared up far earlier then the first quarter of 2011.

Thats not what I wanted to comment about since it is so trivial. What I would like to ask about though is,..........................can you provide any commentary about the "Black" 1515/1Y 2200 kv motors? Is it a propietary/ contract thing? That I can understand. The "other" color cans are about and pop up all over the web. So the question is. Are they Castles?

I keep reading this all over OSE, and they do sound like a great bang for the buck

Thanks Patrick for the info. That said I am a happy owner of a 1717 Castle and waiting for my 2028 motor from Aus.

The new esc's look great too and I hope to try one out this season.

I want one of the silver 28xx series motors in picture1, but in 600-800KV for 12s in a boat instead of 150KV, out of interest what was that for? Direct drive giant scale planes?

I cut wires on a Hacker motor years ago. It still ran! I just lost power on the top end. I had to send to Germany to fix it. I have never cut them since.

I probably should have started a thread. Posted it when I noticed a lot of castle made by leopard bs floating around.
