Breaking Newsflash: First FE heats in D19 at Legg Lake in Years !!

After years of effort attempting to get enough FE support to produce FE race class(es) in Los Angeles, the efforts of several very dedicated folks including Jeff Michaud, owner of Insane Boats, and his "Insane Mob" Race Team, we held the first FE heats during the H20 Gassers event. Today, (Saturday) three heats of P-Sport Hydro were run during the predominently IC race. What a ball ! Six entries, all FE 30's were entered out of the (IIRC) 115 boats there. A quick shot of the pits :

The field, consisting of six FE 30's soon narrowed down. I ran my one FE 30 and Jeff and Steve team drove my other, latest FE 30. Ted , Mark, Allen and Roger ran theirs as well. It was a little strange running against one of my own boats, but the results were quite surprising.

Sunday there will be an Open Class where any FE boat may run.

Here is a vid of the Class Winner ( one First place finish and two Second place finishes) getting the traditional reward for his first CLASS win : [ may not be suitable viewing for small children or the squeamish!] :

                    Tyler,

Thanks for the picture I couldn't have done it without your great pitting - as my #1 co-pilot it was like you were driving and I was simply holding the transmitter.

Here's a little video from the action that day. Tony had firstplace all locked up with his cyber storm then decided to take a little stroll underwater. That let me by with the lead and then my boat decided to flip on the last lap so that let Jeff go by with his FE 30 to take the win and Naveed to take 2nd with his airawanna mono.I don't know whats up with my camera. It use to take better video.

Mark, That was a FUN race !! Our boats were about equal in speed but I got a perfect start and was able to outpull you coming out of the turns with my 3-blade vs. your 2-blade but we were pretty even in the straights. Darn Legg Lake water seems to have those wierd monsters that suck your boat under at just the wrong time As a small consolation for me, First Place was won by Jeff driving my FE 30 and Naveed took Second with the Arowana I built for him. Good Times
