Thats the best vid ive seen on the Spartan so far, It certainly seems to be delivering on Traxxas claims. Not sure how much more that hull has in it though looking at the side to side roll & looks like it might get out of shape if pushed much further with a bigger motor. Thanks Martin.
Why would you need to add another cell in the UL-1? It isnt a competition. 2 different hulls. 2 different setups. The UL-1 is a 4s boat. The Spartan is a 6s boat. That is that.
That UL-1 looks slow in that video compared to the one I had. It also says the spartan was running on 5000mah. I wonder what kind of batteries in both boats? I bet there is more speed out of both of those if they ran better batts and 2p in the spartan.

Bingo!
not impressed at all
this I know, that UL-1 does not look near as fast as mine does on 4s
.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8s
guess I should read that!
I'm starting to think that Traxxas has this on the edge of smoke (stock)
I keep reading that users are having temp issues with the motor to, and that's on stock everything running 6s
I'm really considering canceling my order with Tower and forgeting this mono altogether
who wants a RTR boat that is right on the edge of the motor and esc failing in stock form

i think this looks great.... it is obvious that they are both having a good time.
as far as brushless55's coments "they guy has no idea what he is talking about", that is probablly why he is self proclaimed "Obviously amateurs". i looked at your fleet and was "not impressed at all" ( although i do like your street ride and the paint on your ul-1 is sweet. feel free to look at my fleet). what i was impressed with was the fact that the 2 guys were having a good time with a new hobby. it wasnt untill almost 4 minutes that heat was an issue, i think when we were new we all have made that mistake.
i also agree with rumdog, more batteries isnt always the answer.
hopefully snowride will read up and learn a little more and continue to enjoy the hobby as he was obviously doing at the time of the post.
i fear that running on 6s and partial trothle might give alot of heat buildup in the esc.
lets just hope that this dont put him off the hobby. as chuck saied it sounded like they had a good time. :)

I mis read the comment the guy posted, my mistake
and hes right about smoking the esc on the spartan, that sucks
And not impressed with running a 6s boat against a 4s boat, but I've had one on order with Tower for a while now...
and lets never diss members on their fleet! not cool in my opinion
these are toys, and you will be eating those words this summer when I have my 4 builds done, they will be sweet, and fast!
and I don't think this is snows boat, he found another video on the spartan
