I hear the hatch hangs over the back of the boat. So maybe when pressure is applied from the front pushing back (from impact of a water crash) there is a chance of a gap to form from the flexing plastic between the hull and canopy. Then water rushes in. Tape would help keep water out and should be used. I'm going to if I ever get my stinking back order filled. Lol. But if there isn't a secure seat for the canopy to rest in from pressure applied in all directions to keep its form. This will be a problem. Just guessing on this being I don’t have the boat i can't confirm my theory.

Just looked at the video on my PC I was on my phone when i seen it. Rumdog, Your right the canopy did come right off and is next to it.

This was the first test run on 6S



This was the 2nd run of 6S later that day. This video was shot after doing some other testing with props and gps & running prior for about 5 mins. So this is towards the end of the packs.

any heat issue ? and did you get a reading of the gps ?

I think it looks/and sound cool. It sure would impress my non boating friends.

No heat issues. I made few modifications to the rudder, listed in the Spartan thread about heat issues.
Gps was 40mph. Had the gps in front on the hull in front of the motor. And it weighs almost 5oz. You could tell a diffrence in speed with the gps out. Id say low to mid 40's with it out. I had the battery packs mid way in the boat and strut was set at zero angle. I can get more speed moving the packs and changing strut angle a bit. Get more of the hull out of the water to reduce drag. I've since setup different but haven't tested it due to weather.

at least you have open water :-) Here in Norway it's -15 (5 f' ) now and I would quess 10 + cm ice on the waters...
