You should do it brushless! The quad doesn't roll as much in the corners also which makes the video much better. A friend of mine had the first version and had some problems with the motor and esc which led to a crash (in the ocean may I add and never found). He's been thinking of getting the x version soon. He's been using his 600 for video's now but says that the quad copter was smoother.

Easy!
I was one at a show about 6months ago and it was very cool
check out the second video off the link
Easy from a Heli guy's perspective or for a non Heli guy like myself... I have
pretty decent eye/hand coordination but Helis have a HUGE learning curve... lately
I have been more of a "Mr. Right Now"... watching this video made me wanna consider one of those quads if it's flyable to a rookie.

This was our first try at the 3rd meeting of the PBS Passau in Germany 2009. Sadly my friend Kristian lives about 650km away, otherwise we'd try it regularly.

Like butter from a Heli guy's perspective and well I'm not sure about the newbie side?
but this quad is easier than the coaxial helis to fly
very stable

If you say it is easier than a coax than that is easy. My only question, flying a ccpm heli, you know there is tail in and nose in, how does this apply when flying a quad??
Or is it just like flying a plane??

This thread reminds me of this video. I think after a couple of times it will get even better especially now you know what need to be improved. Still a very nice video though.
Brushless you pull tha trigga'?

Bro, that's the very video that got me thinking of a quad!
another thing with flying next to and above racers is they can see their driving lines around the course and what to improve on
