    Fun stuff!

Too bad we didn't make a video of the rescue.

      Question

So the 2000kv motor on 5s with stock prop did good on temps? What size is stock prop? i have the same motor laying around i was thinking about running 5-6s with but not quite sure if it will hold up tho. 5s looked promising.

Was the first run with the stock motor, and the second with the ul-1 motor??

The 5s run was with the stock motor and a M440 S&B if I recall correctly. I don't remember the temps.

What you see is only few of the runs and we tried few different setups, I guess I should have kept a log... Which would be kinda of pointless without a GPS anyway.

The worst temp recorded was around 150F at the motor shaft with a X642 S&B, batteries were around 120F max.

Keep in mind that I did no more than 2-3 laps each time just to see the speed and check the temps, not sure what would have happened with longer runs.

Thanks to Lipo for the video, it was a fun morning!

PS: We should move the discussion to the Stiletto forum I guess..

Here is a video from a test after a mod to make the boat able to run turns as a tunnel should do.

Ummm...I'm a tad confused...after watching about half of the video..(thats all I could stand as its just someone driving a tunnel slowly in the straights and even slower in the corners and almost running it on shore a few times)... What exactly is supposed to be the thing we are supposed to be seeing "as a tunnel should do" in the turns.

Any tunnel will turn well at those slow speeds he was doing in the corners.

The vid is actually useless as it looks like something G Freak would put out.

No they won`t. It may look slower than it actually is, for sure it is not very fast with small props. But more than fast enough for the stock stiletto to spin out even with the outboard low and neutral trim.
I`ve searched but not found any good tunnel videos so far...

                  Oh no???
You did not see one yet??? Well look no further, here it is:

...and if you look close enough you will see he is turning and running straight at full speed! Not half throttle or less all arround...
Agree with DOBY, I lost 6 minutes of my beer time and download limit to see this video and still can not see the MODS you are referring to
What is it? Do you have picture?
Unless it's: outboard low and neutral trim
Which is not a big deal to me.
                  My few cents.

Here this shows just a little bit more on how fast that tunnel hull really is even on choppy water.

Just awesome about 1 min in.

All this driving in circles is making my head spin....
I always wondered what you guys do North of the border.
Is this the right way to do it?

Stiletto looks awsome on the water. Thanks for sharing!

My Stiletto turns well at WOT even on 5s, but I'm not a good driver and I usually end up closing too much at the end of the turn and flipping her.

Since flipping is a major pain in the I'd rather slow down than risking it. Especially when I'm just testing stuff and having fun.

Obviously we have a very different opinion about turns, because I didn`t see nothing but highspeed wide turns in the vidoes. Nothing wrong about that, it is just different styles of driving.
If you throw out 3 buoys in a triangel and run tight to the buoys you will know what I mean. If you look at 1:1 tunnelboats they make incredible tight turns, and that is the whole point with a formula boat the way I see it.

If you have a setup for the Stiletto that allows WOT tight turns feel free to share it!
