30" Balsa Cat Typhoon 500H Outrunner

I put one of the Turnigy Typhoon 500H Heli Motor 1800kv in my cat to see how it would run.For the first run on the boat i was happy a little loose into the wind but was fun.I was running on 4S spinning a X437/3 eagle tree showed amp draws of upwards of 80 and gps recorded speed of 37mph.No water cooling to the motor yet so it was hot 140 F.Next time I will try a smaller prop to see if i can bring the amps down and maybe run a little cooler.I just built it to be a fun runner if i can keep the speeds low 30's and cool I will be happy.

A 437/3 is a mighty small prop for a 30" cat especially with that rpms. Sometimes too little prop will cause excessive heat too.

Looks damn good! A little cavitation on take off, but looks great on plane. You really need a water-cooled mount before something gets smoked. Once you get that I would say slap the 642 on there and give it a whirl.
